| Ling Shuhua was one of the famous female writers in the May 4th period.She examined the existence predicament and tragic fate of women by shaping the traditional female images in the boudoir and the intellectual female images trapped in the family.She consciously uses narrative techniques to highlight the female subject consciousness in the novel,which makes the content,significance and form techniques of the text unique.This paper tries to analyze the background and characteristics of female narrative art in Ling Shuhua’s novels from the perspective of the combination of feminism and narratology,find the relationship between female gender and narrative pattern,and analyze the significance of female narrative art in Ling Shuhua’s novels and her later female creation.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the thesis is divided into three parts to elaborate the female narrative art in Ling Shuhua’s novels.The introduction part summarizes the general content research of Ling Shuhua’s works,the ideas and methods of this paper and the significance of the research.The first chapter analyzes the background of female narrative art in Ling Shuhua’s n ovels.Ling Shuhua grew up in a scholarly family,which was infiltrated by traditional class ical culture,and she also saw the oppression of women in traditional families.After enteri ng the university,influenced by the ideological trend of female liberation in May 4th move ment and western literature thoughts,she began to write about women.Both traditional c ulture and new culture have influenced her,which makes her novels have a feminine narrat ive style,and this style is gentle and implicit.The second chapter analyzes the characteristics of Ling Shuhua’s female narration from three aspects: narrative perspective,narrative voice and narrative image.From the narrative perspective,female consciousness is analyzed from the perspective of female as the subject and from the perspective of children,and children’s perspective shows the concern for girls.The narrative voice shows Ling Shuhua’s female attitude in the novel and conveys the writer’s female consciousness through the subtle and light voice and the ironic and helpless voice.The narrative image analyzes the plight and tragic fate of women in Ling shuhua’s novels,through two groups of allegorical narrative images: flower shadow and embroidered pillow,music and garden,and these narrative images as well as convey the end-result after pursuing and realizing female self-spirit.The third chapter expounds the significance of female narrative art in Ling Shuhua’s novels from two aspects.First of all,the unique value of the female narrative art in Lin g Shuhua’s novels lies in showing the female consciousness of the new elegant lady in boudoir and promoting the maturity of female narrative skills.Then,her novels hav e inspired the development of female narrative art,providing a new perspective for the st udy of female creation during the May 4th Movement and enriching the study of Chinese f emale narrative art.The conclusion is a brief summary of Ling Shuhua’s female narrative research. |
