| Zhao Yu was a revolutionary artist in the 20 th century who died early in his middle age and practiced the Party’s literary and artistic policies throughout his life.He is also an artist who has been forgotten by the history of Chinese art.Zhao Yu,who was born in the early 20 th century,has gone from being a "red kid" in the revolutionary ranks to an art cadre studying in Yan’an and an art worker serving the Northeast Liberated Areas.After the founding of New China,he successively came to the national publishing house and The podium of colleges and universities contributes to the art propaganda and education cause of New China.Zhao Yu’s artistic practice positively reflects the birth process of New China,and also witnesses the development process of my country’s revolutionary art history.In his artistic life,he has created a series of themed art works through various forms such as prints,oil paintings,comics,comic strips,and posters.Among them,the oil painting "Red Flag" is regarded as the earliest revolutionary historical painting in New China.It is a pity that such a revolutionary artist who deserves to be valued by the academic circles,the relevant academic research is now almost blank.How to carry out a comprehensive understanding and analysis of this painter who has been neglected for a long time through the clouds of history may become a research topic of academic significance.This article conducts a case study on the painter Zhao Yu,trying to collect and sort out the visible works and existing documents,combined with the oral interviews of Zhao Yu’s descendants,relatives and relevant insiders,to explore the life and art of the revolutionary artist Zhao Yu.The creative experience,thematic art works,etc.are sorted out,analyzed and discussed,in order to form a preliminary discussion on Zhao Yu and his artistic style,and make up for the lack of previous academic attention and research on the painter Zhao Yu.This article is divided into four parts:The first part,Xiaoyi’s hometown in Shanxi and the Yan’an period.This part focuses on the exploration of Zhao Yu’s early artistic process as a whole.First of all,on the basis of integrating relevant information and interviewing people familiar with the matter,we will sort out Zhao Yu’s family situation,his life experience in participating in the revolutionary team and going to Yan’an.Secondly,it makes a clear description of Zhao Yu’s learning and growth experience in Yan’an period,which mainly includes "Luyi Department Cadre Class",Yan’an Army Art School,practicing the spirit of "Yan’an Literature and Art Symposium" and participating in exhibition design.The second part,the Northeast period.This part mainly discusses Zhao Yu’s artistic experience in the period of the Northeast Liberation War and the early construction of the Northeast,including from Yan’an to the Northeast,teaching at the Northeast Democratic Alliance Art School,engaging in art creation by the "Northeast Pictorial" agency,and focusing on his representative works.One is the analysis and research of "Red Flag",which was rated as the earliest revolutionary historical painting in New China.The third part,the Beijing period.This section focuses on Zhao Yu’s artistic activities in Beijing over the past three decades,as well as the analysis of his art works during this period.According to his life experience,he mainly focuses on four aspects: the creation of propaganda posters by the People’s Fine Arts Publishing Studio,the cultivation of oil painting skills in the "horse training class" outside the school,the transition from Beijing Art Teachers College to Beijing Art Academy and later in the Central Academy of Fine Arts.teach.The fourth part,looks back at Zhao Yu’s artistic career of more than 40 years.By focusing on several key nodes in Zhao Yu’s artistic life,he explores the evolution traces of Zhao Yu’s growth process,creative jumps,theme creations,and status.Influence and other content,and summarizes the technical characteristics and connotation of Zhao Yu’s theme creation from a macro level. |
