A Study On The Uyghur Translation Of Clothing Vocabulary In A Dream Of Red Mansion

In the civilization history of human evolution,dress is an important factor that can not be ignored.Clothing is not only the beginning of the awakening of human civilization and cognitive civilization,but also the representative of different national cultures,as well as the symbol of an era and society.They are inseparable from the dress culture in social life,and the dress culture of their respective nations has a profound impact on the dress culture of the Chinese nation.The author from the original "a dream of red mansions" and by the xinjiang people’s publishing house in2012 d translation words the garments selected and established a small corpus,classifying vocabulary in a dream of red mansions dress,under nida’s functional equivalence theory to explore in a dream of red mansions clothing vocabulary used when translated into uygur translation methods or techniques.The introduction of this paper first summarizes the research trends of A Dream of Red Mansions,then determines the research content of dress vocabulary in A Dream of Red Mansions,and explains the theoretical basis,research methods and corpus sources used in this paper.In the first chapter,according to the part of wearing,the vocabulary of clothing category is divided into head clothing category,body clothing category and foot clothing category.This paper summarizes the methods of Uyghur translation,analyzes the characteristics of its types and the situation of Uyghur translation from the theory of functional equivalence,and investigates the expression forms of different types of clothing vocabulary in Uyghur.Through analysis,it is found that the translation of clothing words will not simply be literal translation,but will be translated according to the relationship between clothing ontology and characters,people’s cognition of clothing words,combined with Uyghur expression,and the translation process follows the principle of functional equivalence theory.The second chapter analyzes the dimension translation of decorative clothing vocabulary.This paper discusses the translation strategies of decorative dress words from the whole,mainly using literal translation,modified translation and free translation.The third chapter discusses and summarizes the translation methods of general clothing words,and concludes that literal translation and free translation methods are mainly used in the translation of general clothing words in A Dream of Red Mansions.The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole text and points out the deficiencies.It is hoped that this paper will provide more specific references for the learners of Chinese and Uygur,and make some supplements for the translation of Chinese and Uygur literary works.
