The frog pattern of Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi is an artwork created by the Zhuang people in their long-term daily observation and production practices,and also their expression of identity in aesthetic activities.It is their way of aesthetic that gave this pattern special spiritual carriers and forms of expression.As the torch of ethnic culture is passed from generation to generation,the frog pattern has become one of the representative traditional patterns and an important cultural symbol of the Zhuang ethnic group with their inestimable historical,artistic and aesthetic values.With the rapid development of the society and the integration of diverse cultures,the frog pattern is in a circumstance where traditional arts collide with modern technologies and traditional culture wrestles with thoughts of modern civilization.The original intention of this study is to find ways to pass on the inheritance through branding from new dimensions and with various carriers on the basis of its traditional aesthetic core.This paper takes the frog pattern of Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi as the research object.In the research,firstly,the origin of frog patterns was investigated and examined;secondly,the artistic characteristics of these patterns in terms of shape,color,meaning and beauty were analyzed to look into their aesthetic core;then,the branding research and feasibility analysis were conducted on the basis of relevant theoretical study,and feasible design strategies were formulated by following the design principles and relating the theory to practice;and lastly,a frog pattern brand image was designed with the brand LOU as an example through the combination of traditional aesthetics and branding strategies,so that the frog pattern could be spread more actively with new visual images and carriers,which,hopefully,can provide some reference for the development of ethnic cultural brands.
