A Study On The Theme Decoration Of "Feast And Performance" In Song Dynasty Tombs

"Feast and performance" are the integration of music and dance performances in the process of feasting.The term "living an extravagant life" indicates that music and dance performances had been performed as early as the Shang and Zhou dynasties in the upper-class feasts.In the Song Dynasty,due to the improvement of the status of the citizen class and the development of social economy,"feast and performance" activities became more and more common,and the rich people and the citizen class also gradually adopted it.With the popularization of "feast and music",this theme has also been widely used in the tomb decoration of people in the middle and lower classes,resulting in the gorgeous and complex tomb decoration of the Song Dynasty.This article is to study the decoration of Song Dynasty tombs with the theme of "feast and music" with murals,brick carvings,line carvings,and stone carvings.The first part will distinguish the living environment reflected by the tomb decorations with the theme of "feast and performance".The feasting places can be divided into halls and courtyards,and the servants are divided into chefs and servants in the house.The second part takes the theme of "feast" and "performance" in the tomb decoration as the entry point.The second part takes the theme of "feasting" and "music and dance" related to "feasting" activities in the tomb decoration as the entry point.The theme of "Feasting" can be divided into staple food,non-staple food,dessert,tea and alcohol.The themes of "music and dance" can be divided into music,singing,dance,opera,and acrobatic show.In the third part,the tomb decorations with the theme of "feast and performance" can be divided into two areas according to the expression technique and content,which are the capital area of the Northern Song Dynasty in the north and the Tongchuanfu Road area of the Southern Song Dynasty in the south.The characteristics of the northern part are: First,there are various expressions;Second,the cooks who serve the characters appear frequently;Third,the theme of "Feast" appeared in a concentrated manner;Fourth,there were many performances by folk artists in the dance category;Fifth,the opera category included a variety of genres;Sixth,the owner of the tomb is mainly the lower-class wealthy people.The characteristics of the south are as follows: First,the expression technique is stone carving;Second,the food content of the "feast" theme is mostly replaced by food boxes;Third,there are a variety of singing and dance themes;Fourth,the male performers in this area are mostly dressed as officials;Fifth,the group of tomb owners includes a large number of officials.According to the evolution of the times,the capital area is divided into the early and middle periods,the late Northern Song Dynasty,the late Song Dynasty and the early Jin Dynasty,and the Tongchuanfu Road area is divided into the early and middle periods and the middle and late periods.
