| Nowadays, the acting approach of radio drama needs to be adjusted accordingly to the variation of communication methods and content production with varying audience media habits in the new media environment. In the current soundscape, decentralised communication has brought about a new type of transmission relationship. The audience’s listening and viewing choices are becoming increasingly diverse and hardly concentrating on individual programme for long periods of time, which leads to a concomitant characteristic of the audience’s media habits. Many programmes have adapted to this circumstance in a number of ways including production and broadcasting methods, promotion, distribution and operation.Audio products take up less space and visual attention of listeners, which gives the users the opportunity to do other things at the same time, such as driving, doing housework or working out.The radio accompanies the listener in their free time.Radio drama,as a type of radio products, also has this commonality,so the actors need to work backwards from the listener’s side to adjust the acting approach based on this communication environment and the listener’s reception habits. This thesis takes "science radio drama" as the research genre and the radio drama "The Three Body Problem" as the research material. This thesis takes the environment described above as a starting point with focusing on the acting approach of radio drama in the science genre, while taking the universal method of it into account.Hence the following view: "Full accompaniment" and "full immersion" are the overall state of acting."Full accompaniment" is the overall state of acting for all audio products including science radio drama, which based on the accompaniment of audio products listening.Specifically, the states of actors can be summarised as "calm down, keep relax, stay agile and become attuned".Then being "full immersion" to create imaginative space and distinctive image. In addition to the above, the actors must pay attention to the feature of "listening",so that the acting conforms to the laws of hearing and reduces the cost of reception for the listeners.Following the above discussion, the author concludes from the appreciation and study of The Three Body Problem that the essentials for the narrative language of science radio drama are strong sense in image, excellent sense in logic and deep sense in feeling.A strong sense in image means that attention should be paid to the three-dimensional spatial orientation and the variety of scenery. The science radio drama is based on real life and is reasonably imaginative. Some of the spaces described in the script may not exist in the real world, and the actors have to build up the spaces in their mind and use acting methods that are easy for the listener to imagine.Excellent sense in logic means clear logical relationships and coherent script. The clear logic of science radio drama is an important feature, and it is up to the actors to grasp the contextual relationships and play out an unambiguous storyline for the listener.Deep sense in feeling means rich mental process and distinct feeling. Then comes the essentials of acting in character language.Faced with the different characters in the drama, the first step of the actor is to be the director, envisaging the outer image and inner temperament of the character and making a good portrait of it in his mind. The next step is to be an actor,to define the look of the character,to grasp the character’s personality, and then to act the character with a voice that is consistent with its identity. The basic conclusions drawn from the analysis and research in this thesis are that: As a part of the audio-linguistic art genre, radio drama should be created with normative and aesthetical features of mainstream sound. The adaptation of the drama acting should be implemented based on this general tone and on the current media environment and the audience’s media habits. At the same time, sound creation methods that are easily accepted by the public in the online soundscape should be referred or discarded reasonably,so as to achieve better communication effects and create a favourable living space for radio drama under the premise of having normative and aesthetic space for self-requirement. |
