| “Flowers in the Mirror” is an important novel written by Li Ruzhen in Qing Dynasty,which occupies an important position in the history of ancient novels.Many literati have commented on it since its publication.These comments on li Ruzhen and his “Flowers in the Mirror” from different aspects have become a useful reference for later readers to interpret the novel,but also expanded the field of literary criticism in Qing Dynasty,so they have important literary criticism value.In view of the fact that the academic circle is relatively weak in the study of the comments on “Flowers in the Mirror”,it is of great academic significance to study the comments on “Flowers in the Mirror”.Therefore,this paper intends to take the current commentary book of “Flowers in the Mirror” as the research object,combined with the text of the novel,to carry out an in-depth analysis of the theoretical connotation and critical characteristics of the commentary of “Flowers in the Mirror”,and then highlight the main value of the commentary of this novel in the history of ancient novel criticism.The main content of the paper is expanded from four parts:The first chapter mainly reviews all the commentaries and reviewers of “Flowers in the Mirror”.All the commentaries in“Flowers in the Mirror” reflect the distinctive characteristics of the concentrated commentaries of many literati,including a large number of verse criticism and highly literati illustration criticism,which become the outstanding characteristics of the criticism form of this novel.The appearance of this kind of comment is closely related to the highly refined creation orientation of the novel itself,so it can attract many literati to participate in the criticism and printing activities of the novel,and thus form a unique “salon-style” comment phenomenon.The second chapter mainly analyzes the ideological connotation of the comments in“Flowers in the Mirror”.In terms of the main content of the comments,the comments on “Flowers in the Mirror” focus on three aspects of connotation:one is to inherit the concept of traditional novels.Critics believe that the official novels like “Flowers in the Mirror” have a literary status similar to “Jing Yi”,and can play a positive role in improving people’s hearts and enriching customs,so it has considerable significance.This is the critical practice of the critic’s ideological premise.Second,from the perspective of narrative literature,the author puts forward many unique views on the related characters,plot structure and narrative rhythm,which confirms and strengthens the artistic depth of the novel.Thirdly,from the perspective of ideological history,the author interprets the historical materials of life-style criticism in the commentary,and holds that the commentary reflects the ideological evolution of the middle Qing Dynasty and the unique appreciation interest of readers.The third chapter mainly discusses the critical characteristics of the comments on“Flowers in the Mirror”.In terms of the overall style of comment discourse,the comment of “Flowers in the Mirror” reflects the distinct style of Qianjia’s study,the prominent comparative criticism consciousness and the highly literati comment practice.Such critical characteristics are inseparable from the intellectual style of the times in which the critics are living,and are also the inevitable result of literary novel criticism.The fourth chapter mainly summarizes the value and status of the comments on“Flowers in the Mirror” in the history of fiction comments.Although the novel criticism has not broken through the barriers of novel criticism since the early Qing Dynasty,it still occupies a place in the history of novel criticism because of its naturalistic creation and criticism tendency.Their comments greatly enhance readers’ taste of appreciation and enhance the readability and textual value of the novel. |
