Research On The Value Guidance Of People’s Needs For A Better Life In The New Era

After more than 40 years of reform and opening up,Chinese society has made considerable development and progress,especially the realization of the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way,which has laid a solid foundation for meeting the growing needs of the people for a better life.In the new era,the main contradiction in our society has been transformed into the contradiction between the people’s growing needs for a better life and unbalanced and insufficient development.The transformation of major social contradictions means that,on the one hand,the people’s increasingly better life needs to be enriched in content,diversified in form and upgraded in level.On the other hand,the people’s ever-growing better life needs are constrained by unbalanced and inadequate development.The key to solving the contradiction is to develop that is still the first priority for the party to govern and revitalize the country.However,development is not an end but a means to realize people’s yearning and pursuit for a better life.With the rapid advancement of globalization and modernization and the comprehensive transformation of society,value diversification makes the mainstream value face an unprecedented impact;The derogation of instrumental rationality to value rationality makes the ultimate thinking about the purpose and significance of life fragmented and hollowed out;The profit-seeking nature of market economy makes people’s spiritual world increasingly objectified,and the construction of a better life in the new era is facing a serious value dilemma.Thus,how to guide the construction of a better life through correct value in right path,so that the fruits of social development will eventually benefit the people and make them live better has become a significant topic of The Times.It is human nature to pursue a better life,and a better life is human’s expectation and vision for the future life which include five-pronged approaches such as economic,political,cultural,social and ecological life.A better life is the unity of daily life and non-daily life,real life and ideal life.Need is the impetus of a better life,and a better life enriches the need.The need for a better life is a type of need,which reflects the high grade and high level of need,and people’s pursuit of freedom which is beyond the shackles of material needs.It is a psychological experience of the unity of truth,goodness and beauty.A better life in the new era requires realism,diversity and multiple levels.The value of a better life relates to whether and how people’s needs for a better life can be satisfied.From the perspective of axiology,a better life contains three dimensions of value subject,value object and value evaluation.At present,people’s needs for a better life are facing serious value dilemmas-People’s own value dilemmas:excessive needs vs.narrow needs,people’s social relationship value dilemmas:involution vs.polarization,the value dilemmas of the relationship between man and nature: confrontation vs.possession,and the value dilemmas of man and technology:virtualization vs.moral elimination.The way to solve the dilemmas lies in the guidance of correct values,so as to point out the direction for the construction of a better life,provide fundamental guidance for the satisfaction of the needs of a better life and the way of satisfaction.In the new era,the value guidance is to establish a free and all-round outlook on development,a “labor creating happiness” concept,core values of Socialism,and a new vision on development.Only in this way can the people’s pursuit of a better life lead to the right path.
