The Study On The "San Yan" Thought Of Character And Word Relationship

Yan Zhi-tui served in the four dynasties and had a thorough understanding of the dialects of the six dynasties.In his later years,he wrote the Book Yan Shi Jia Xun(《颜氏家训》),which was widely quoted and narrated completely.The chapter of Shu Zheng(“书证篇”)in that book involves the knowledge of writing,pronunciation and collation in the Southern and Northern Dynasties,which is indispensable to the study of Chinese history.Yan Shi-gu and Yan Yuan-sun are outstanding representatives of the descendants of Yan family.Yan Shi-gu corrected the errors in the meaning,sound and form of words in the Chun Qiu(《春秋》)and Zuo Zhuan(《左传》)with extensive documentary evidence in Kuang Miu Zheng Su(《匡谬正俗》).In addition,he sorted out difficult words and words through detailed explanations in Han Shu Zhu(《汉书注》)and Ji Jiu Pian Zhu(《急就篇注》).Yan Yuan-sun based on Shuo Wen Jie Zi(《说文解字》),Yu Pian(《玉篇》)and other word books,combined with the social idiomatic characters of Tang Dynasty,the variant characters are classified in the three forms of Zheng(正),Su(俗)and Tong(通)in Gan Lu Zi Shu(《干禄字书》).At present,the existing studies of these books are mainly distributed in the literature editions,language application and illustration analysis,and there are also achievements in the direction of textual exegesis,but most of them are about a single book,and the comparative analysis of their linguistic thoughts is temporarily lacking.Based on the Chinese character vocational theory of Mr.Li Yun-fu and the above materials,this paper explores the thought of the relation between characters and words contained therein,and analyzes and compares the inheritance and development of the relation between characters and words of"San Yan"(“三颜”).The introduction briefly describes the research status of the theory of characters and words relationship and the books of"San Yan"(“三颜”),and briefly introduces the life of"San Yan"(“三颜”),the main contents of the five works and the selection of the editions of the materials.The first,second,third chapters are the main part,under the guidance of the vocational theory of Chinese characters,excavates and compares the thought of the relation between characters and words embodied in the works of"San Yan"(“三颜”).This chapter mainly makes a comparative analysis of the word relationship thought of"San Yan"(“三颜”)from three aspects:the concept of Zheng(正)character,different words with the same word(同字异词),different words with the same word(同词异字).The conclusion of this paper further summarizes the similarities and differences of the thought of the characters and words relation between"San Yan"(“三颜”)and their inheritance and development.This paper finds that although"San Yan"(“三颜”)has different emphasis on the thought of the relation between characters and words,there is indeed a relationship between inheritance and development in the evolution of characters,the standard of Zheng(正)characters and the treatment of Su(俗)characters and so on.
