A Study On Menciu’s Thought Of Nourishing Qi And Its Modern Significance

Mencius,as one of the important representatives of Confucianism in the pre-Qin period,inherited Confucius’ thought of benevolence and morality,put forward the unique concept of "noble spirit" from the perspective of improving self-cultivation and strengthening moral construction,and believed that "noble spirit" is not only an important means for people to cultivate their morality but also the great spiritual power when moral cultivation reaches the highest level.From the development of today’s society,in the wave of economic development,although material life has been greatly satisfied,what follows is the rampant pursuit of material caused by the indifference of moral consciousness.Mencius’ s "great spirit" can solve this contradiction of material desire from the perspective of personal cultivation.Therefore,studying the theoretical value of Mencius’ s "noble spirit" and excavating its modern significance is conducive to giving important reference to improvingpersonalmoral cultivationand social atmosphere.This paper is mainly divided into four parts: the first part is the introduction.This part mainly discusses the research purpose and significance of this paper,as well as the research trends,research methods,and innovations at home and abroad.Second,the main content of "noble spirit".Based on systematically combing the theoretical origin of "Hao Ran Zhi Qi",this chapter focuses on the ideological resources and theoretical cornerstone of "Hao Ran Zhi Qi",and further discusses the basic connotation and essential characteristics of "Hao Ran Zhi Qi" based on the original text.Third,the cultivation method and theoretical effect of "noble spirit".This chapter lays a foundation for the study of the modern significance of "Hao Ran Zhi Qi" by studying the cultivation methods and theoretical efficacy of "Hao Ran Zhi Qi".Fourth,is the modern significance of the "heroic spirit".Starting from the efficacy contained in the "noble spirit",this chapter focuses on the reference signs of the "noble spirit" tothecurrent socialproblems.Through research,this paper believes that Mencius’ s "heroic spirit" has rich era significance and great theoretical significance.Its connotation,as a kind of brave spirit dominated by the mind,has the essential characteristics of being supreme and rigid,matching righteousness and Tao,not forgetting and not encouraging.Through self-cultivation,people can cultivate their noble spirit using "perseverance,direct cultivation,self-criticism and keeping night spirit",to achieve their moral original heart and have the value concept of judging right and wrong,to achieve the highest value of rational self-consciousness and "unmoved" state of dealing with changes,independent "big husband" personality and "sacrificing life for justice".Therefore,the study of the thought of "noble spirit" has important modern significance,and has important reference significance for shaping the ideal moral personality,promoting social integrity,carrying forward the national spirit,and the great rejuvenation ofthe Chinese nation.
