Wang Yangming’s concept of "Xin" includes two elements,"Xin of Mind-Heart" and"Xin of Noumenon".The "Xin of Mind-Heart" is the organic combination of "A Piece of Flesh and Blood" and "Spirit of Qi",which is identical with the individual’s body and is the source of individual survival activities.The activity of "Xin of Mind-Heart" uses "Qi" as the medium.The lively and infinitely separated "Qi" provides the possibility of "Being in The Same Body with Things" and even "All Things in One".In the meaning of "Circulation of Qi"above,all things in the universe and human beings constitute a whole life body.From the perspective of "All Things in One",on the one hand,the sounds,colors,tastes and changes of all things in the world need to move from chaos to clarity in the activities of human "Xin of Mind-Heart";on the other hand,the relationship between human beings and all things in the universe is an analogy to the relationship between the "Xin of Mind-Heart" in an individual’s body and the ears,eyes,mouth,and limbs.Therefore,the "Xin of Mind-Heart" is the empirical origin and master of human survival activities and the becoming of the universe."Xin of Noumenon" takes conscience or principle as the content,and is the ultimate metaphysical entity.In terms of its nature,it can be described in various aspects.For example,from the perspective of time and space,it is manifested as eternal and universal;from the perspective of language and perception,it is beyond words and phenomena;from the perspective of people’s value and emotional projection to it,it is shown as absolute and perfect.The "Xin of Noumenon" treats difference in a negative way,is self-identical in difference,is the oneness that accompanies difference and maintains itself in difference."Xin of Noumenon" provides a universal norm and "legitimate" basis for survival activities based on "Xin of Mind-Heart",and endows Confucian values with objective reality.The relationship between "Xin of Mind-Heart" and the "Xin of Noumenon" can be understood as a Lu and Wang’s theory expression of the relationship between Principle and Qi."Xin of Noumenon" is metaphysical,and "Xin of Mind-Heart" is physical.The two are heterogeneous existences,with clear and insurmountable boundaries between them,but at the same time,"Xin of Noumenon" and "Xin of Mind-Heart" is in a state of inseparable."Xin of Noumenon" represents the universal essence of human beings,while "Xin of Mind-Heart"represents the specific existence of human beings."Xin of Noumenon" pervades all "Xin of Mind-Heart",and each "Xin of Mind-Heart" contains a complete "Xin of Noumenon"."Xin of Mind-Heart" and "Xin of Noumenon" show two co-existing modes of activity in the relationship of inseparable.The two complement each other.Without the survival activity based on the "Xin of Mind-Heart","Xin of Noumenon" cannot be presented.Without "Xin of Noumenon",survival activity is like animals,falling into disorder and chaos.The two oppose each other."Xin of Noumenon" and "Thief in Xin of Mind-Heart"(the part of the "Xin of Mind-Heart" that is infiltrated by "selfishness")struggle with each other.Gongfu activity is,to a certain extent,the process of fighting against the "Thief in Xin of Mind-Heart",The"Will" marks the objectification of the "Thief in Xin of Mind-Heart" and declares war on it.The establishment of "The Will to Do Good with One Thought" is the encounter between the"Xin of Mind-Heart" and the "Xin of Noumenon",that is,"Ontological Empathy".This activity has a transformative significance for human existence.It marks the transcendence of the "Will" Subject to the survival of nature.
