Since the outbreak of COVID-19.The world is undergoing major changes.China is the first country in the world to discover the new coronavirus and quickly fight against the new coronavirus.China always puts the life and safety of the Chinese people first.The international public opinion field under the control of the Western discourse power.They deny China’s success in fighting the COVID-19.At the same time,A large number of documentaries about China’s fight against the COVID-19 have exploded.Prove China’s hard work in fighting the new crown epidemic through these documentaries.In the field of international public opinion,the China-related anti-epidemic documentary filmed by other countries has attracted widespread attention from the international community,and the Chinese national image created in the documentary has also been mixed.In the selected British and Japanese anti-epidemic documentaries on China,it is found that the Chinese national image presented in the Japanese anti-epidemic documentaries is relatively objective and fair.They are the government image of "people first,life first",the national image of "unity and self-improvement",the economic image of "economic power and steady recovery",and the scientific and technological image of "powerful country with science and technology helps epidemic prevention and control".Compared with Japan,the national image of China presented in the BBC’s China-related anti-epidemic documentary is more negative than that of Japan.They are the government image of "coercion and control",the national image of "panic and strong",and the city image of "sadness and rebirth".This paper selects China-related anti-epidemic documentaries from the United Kingdom and Japan as the research object,and uses a combination of content analysis,case analysis and comparative analysis.The article discusses five parts.The first is to define the concept of China-related anti-epidemic documentaries,analyze its characteristics,and at the same time analyze the connotation and shaping of the country’s image,and summarize the necessity of China-related anti-epidemic documentaries to shape China’s national image.The second is to analyze the content of the British and Japanese anti-epidemic documentaries related to China through their macro-level narrative issues,meso-level narrative structure and micro-level narrative strategies.The third is to further classify and summarize the presentation of the Chinese national image in the British and Japanese anti-epidemic documentaries.It is found that the Chinese national image in the Japanese anti-epidemic documentaries is more objective and fair,while the Chinese national image in the British anti-epidemic documentaries is more objective and fair.Then compare and analyze the similarities and differences in the shaping paths of China-related anti-epidemic documentaries in the UK and Japan.The fourth is to explore the reasons behind the differences in the Chinese national image presented in the British and Japanese anti-epidemic documentaries.It is divided into two levels: the perspective of the "other" outside China and the perspective of the "other" in the different contexts of the UK and Japan.Finally,put forward specific suggestions and experience enlightenment.To enable Chinese documentaries to better communicate across cultures.To further improve my country’s cross-cultural communication level in the post-epidemic era,it will provide some reference and reference for shaping China’s national image. |
