"The People United Will Never Be Defeated ! " is a famous work of Frederick·Rzewski,an American "avant-garde" composer and pianist.Its theme from the same song by Chilean composer Sergio Ortega.It aims to encourage the people to unite against the oppression of the authorities and support the people’s united front alliance.In his early years,Rzewski was deeply influenced by left-wing politics,so he created this large variation with two thematic parts and thirty-six variations as the framework for development.The logical connections between the various variations are clear,the development forms are diverse,the variety of materials is refreshing under the blessing of modern techniques,and the playing techniques are even more difficult.Taking the development mode of the second structure and its many characteristics as clues,through the analysis of the music ontology,this paper excavates the invisible framework and development mode of the second structure,analyzes the various abstract attributes and characteristics that are attached to the variational style,reflected by the delicate composition technique and style conversion,and analyzes the composite characteristics of multiple musical structure and multiple narrative structure at the same time;and on this basis,the performance technique is explored,and the notes and solutions of the performance are summarized.Through the analysis and excavation of Rzewski’s work,it can help the performers overcome the difficult and complex technical difficulties,deeply understand the musical connotation,interpret and resonate with the composer’s ideas,so as to carry out high-quality interpretation and make the work have better expressiveness.
