Purpose:To explore the theory of regulating qi and resolving phlegm in treating thyroid nodules of phlegm stagnation type, and provide theoretical basis for clinical efficacy observation.Patients with thyroid nodules(TCM syndrome differentiation belongs to qi and phlegm stagnation type)were treated with the method of regulating qi and resolving phlegm. The efficacy indexs and the safety indexs were observed before and after treatment, and the clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated.Materials and methods:120 patients with thyroid nodules of qi and phlegm stagnation type were randomly divided into control group(60 cases)and treatment group(60 cases). The control group was treated with lifestyle intervention and dynamically observed within 8weeks.On the basis of lifestyle intervention, the treatment group was treated with regulating qi and dispersing nodules decoctions for 8 weeks.Observe and record the changes of efficacy index and safety index of patients before and after treatment. Results:This study included 120 patients in total, without shedding or removal. Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of baseline indicators include age,gender(P>0.05),which was comparable.1.Efficacy index(1)The maximum diameter of nodules: The effective rate of nodules reduction in the treatment group was 76.60%,which was better than that in the control group(20%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The maximum diameter of nodules in the treatment group was significantly smaller than before(P<0.01),and it was no significant change in the control group before and after treatment(P>0.05).(2)Number of thyroid nodules: Compared with that before treatment, the numbers of thyroid nodules in the treatment group decreased slightly(P<0.05);but in the control group it was not significantly different from that before(P>0.05),and the reduction of the number of nodules in the treatment group was also better than that in the control group(P<0.05).(3)TCM syndrome scores: The effective rate of TCM syndrome scores reduction in the treatment group was 91.67%,which was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.05),and the improvement of symptoms was better than that in the control group(20%).2.Safety Index: Thyroid function, antibody titer, liver function and kidney function before and after treatment were within the normal range. There were no gastrointestinal irritation, allergic reactions and withdrawal during the observation period. Conclusion:Professor Gao Tianshu’s treatment of thyroid nodules with phlegm stagnation starts with liver and focuses on spleen,it is effective in relieving symptoms, reducing the size of thyroid nodules and reducing the number of thyroid nodules.
