OBJECTIVE:This project was based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computer System(V3.0)in order to perform data mining and analysis on Professor Wang Guohua’s four diagnoses, medications, and formulaic schema for the treatment of menopause syndrome, summarizing features of the clinical pathogenesis of this disease and the mentor’s experience of treating this disease with drugs, and provide a benchmark for clinical diagnosis and treatment as well as new drug development.METHODS:Using a retrospective study design,we collected clinical medical cases of Professor Wang Guohua’s treatment of menopause syndrome from January 2015 through April 2022 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, data names were normalized,a database was established using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computer System(V3.0),and frequency analysis, association rule analysis,Kmeans algorithm based cluster analysis. The data mining methods were used to analyze the frequency of symptoms, tongues, veins, and symptoms, the pattern of association between the various symptoms and the languages, and the frequency of drugs used in prescriptions, the pattern of association bet ween nature and taste, attribution, efficacy and drugs, and to explore combinations of core medicines and new combinations of prescriptions.RESULTS:We analyzed data from 174 cases of menopausal syndrome treated by Prof.Wang Guohua who met the criteria for the case:common symptoms were:warmth, sweating, insomnia, palpitations, menstrual disturbances, fatigue, distress, dry mouth, irritability, and fear of the common cold.Closely related and more common symptom combinations are sweating in the heat-insomnia.Common tongue textures include a dark red tongue,a red tongue tip,a light red tongue, and a light dark tongue. The common tongue is covered with a fine white coating,a white greasy coating, teeth m arks,a fine yellow coating. The most common tongue combinations are dark red tongue-thin white foam, and dark red tongue-oily white foam.More strongly correlated tongue combinations are dark red tongues-with fissures.Common pulse signs are sunken string pulse, string pulse, fine pulse, and sunken strong pulse. The common symptoms are liver depression and kidney deficiency evidence,liver-kidney yindeficiency evidence,kidney-yin-yang deficiency evidence, and heart-kidney non-interaction evidence. The analysis of the law of formula formation, involving 158 flavors of Chinese medicine, shows that the four qi are predominantly cold, followed by hot and flat, with less use of cold and warm. There are five flavors, mostly sweet and bitter, followed by pungent, and supplemented by sour and savory. The liver, heart, and kidney are the major channels, followed by the pulmonary and splenic channels. In order of frequency,Bai Shao, angelica, keel bone,Chai Hu,Shu Di Huang,Yi Mu Cao,Oyster,Dragon Bone,Turtle shell, and Shan Yao are the ten most commonly used herbs, the effects of which are primarily to feed the deficiency, complemented by blood-stasis-activating and heat-removing drugs, followed by antiphlogistic drugs, diuretics and moisture-permeating drugs, liver pacification and wind-calming drugs, tranquilizers, and astringent drugs.angelica-Bai Shao,Chai Hu-Bai Shao, keel bone-Yi Mu Cao,keel bone, oyster shell, tortoise shell and so on,were all closely related and frequent combinations.Observation of the comm only used drug network showed that the combination of Si Wu Tang in combination with Gui Zhi plus keel bone and oyster soup with addition and subtraction was composed of four categories of new formula combinations:new formula 1(angelica,Bai Shao,Chai Hu,Mu Dan Pi,red peony, rehmannia),new formula 2(angelica,Bai Shao,Chai Hu,keel bone, oyster)、new formula 3(Gui Zhi,Bai Shao,Dragon Bone,Oyster, keel bone,Yi Mu Cao),new formula 4(keel bone,Yi Mu Cao,Angelica,Oysteone,Turtle Shell).Conclusions:1.According to the results of data mining,we believe that the main clinical etiology and pathogenesis of the disease is kidney yin and yang deficiency, deficiency of blood essence, deficiency of liver and kidney, heart and liver yang, wind and fire disturbing the heart, nature affects the acquired causes, spleen and stomach disorders,qi and blood stasis, endogenous blood stasis,phlegm-dampness.2.Prof.Wang Guohua has a comprehensive and unique understanding of the disease, treatment of menopause syndrome mainly kidney and liver, focus on subtle yang, blood stasis,do not forget diuretic dampness. She is good at regulating kidney, liver, heart, spleen and other functions of the viscera as a whole, focusing on filling the deficiency of the solid, promoting the right and the wrong, focusing on hot and cold and yin and yang, flexible use of medicine treatment, and according to the actual situation to add and subtract.
