Abstract/Summary:
Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata(Motschulsky)is one of the most important pests of eggplant crops.Long-term chemical pesticide-based control methods have caused a series of problems such as resistance of the pests.Wood vinegar solution is complex in composition, not easy to develop resistance, and the repellent effect on chewing mouthparts pests is less studied. In this thesis,we investigated the toxic effect, repellent effect, food refusal activity of apricot shell wood vinegar solution on the Mots larvae and adults,as well as the effect on physiological activities such as growth and development of the Mots larvae,to investigate the control effect of apricot shell wood vinegar solution on the Mots. The results were as follows:1.The apricot shell wood vinegar solution had no direct acute poisoning effect on the 4th instar larvae and adults of the Mots, but the test insects showed different degrees of adverse symptoms.2.The apricot shell wood vinegar solution had a significant inhibitory effect on the weight increase of the 4th instar larvae of the Mots, and the inhibition increased with the concentration. At the concentration of 50 m L·L-1 of apricot shell wood vinegar solution at 48 h,the inhibition effect on the weight gain of the 4th instar larvae was the best, and the inhibition rate could reach 82.75%.3.The apricot shell wood vinegar solution had a significant feeding rejection effect on both the 4th instar larvae and adults of the Mots. The higher the concentration of wood vinegar solution, the lower the feeding amount of larvae and adults on lobelia leaves, and the higher the non-selective and selective feeding rejection rates, the highest non-selective feeding rejection rate of larvae and adults was 91.90%and 81.91%for the4th instar larvae and adults respectively, and the highest selective feeding rejection rate was 86.56%and 77.57%respectively.4.The apricot shell wood vinegar solution had significant odor repellent effect on both 4th instar larvae and adults of the Mots, and the higher the concentration, the higher the repellent index. The highest repellency index was 0.67 and 0.95 for larvae and adults in the treatment groups of 50 m L·L-1 and 100 m L·L-1,respectively.5.The apricot shell wood vinegar solution on intact plants had significant repellent effect on adult of the Mots, and the concentration was proportional to the escape rate. The escape rate peaked at 2 h for treatment groups with concentrations≥10 m L·L-1 and then decreased slowly. The peak escape rate was the highest at 20 m L·L-1,reaching82.22%.In conclusion, although the apricot shell wood vinegar solution had no acute toxic effect on the Mots,it had significant effects on the refusal activity and repellent activity of the Mots, and could effectively inhibit the growth and development of the larvae. This study provides some theoretical basis for the green control of the Mots and the application development of wood vinegar solution.
