Once the soaring tower structure of a ship lift is damaged by seismic loads,it will pose a significant impact on the national economy.In order to attenuate the damage caused by earthquakes,it is necessary to study the seismic mitigation measures to protect the ship lift.Based on the seismic resistance theory of water tanks,a series of model tests were conducted to study the dynamic characteristics of the approximate model of the designed ship lift tower structure.Subsequently,through experiments,the impact pattern of the integral water tank(with set location and water tank storage capacity)on the seismic resistance performance of the structure was studied.On the basis of the research,an optimization scheme f or the water tank was proposed to improve the energy absorption effect of the water tank using spoilers.The following conclusions have been drawn through the research:(1)Structural partitions can effectively increase the integrity of the structure.The more the number of partitions,the similar the basic characteristics of different measurement points in the structure are;(2)The energy absorption effect when placing a water tank on the top of the structure is superior to other positions of the structur e.The water tank on the top can absorb more vibration energy through water movement,making the structure much safer;(3)The test results at different water depths show that when the water tank is set at a depth of 2 cm,the structural vibration can be r estored quicker,and the structural fundamental frequency change as a result of the additional mass of the water tank is smaller;(4)Setting a spoiler structure can effectively increase the energy absorption damping of the water tank,and the restoration of the structure with a spoiler is better.With the above experimental research,the reliability of the water tank’s absorption of structural vibration energy has been verified,and the relevant research conclusions can guide engineers in the seismic resis tance design of ship lift tower structures. |
