The Editorial And Poetical View Of Wen Yiduo’s "Copy Of Modern Poetry"

Modern Poetry is an anthology of modern new poetry that began to be compiled in September 1943 after returning to the field of new poetry,containing 191 poems by 65 poets.Due to various reasons such as the war,this anthology was not finalized,and was first published in 1948 as an appendix to the Complete Works of Wen Yiduo.Starting from the main content,reference materials,and editorial concepts and characteristics of the anthology,this article intends to examine the changes in Wen Yiduo’s poetic thought from the perspective of communication and acceptance,and at the same time examine the historical significance and literary value of the anthology,the main contents are as follows:The first chapter examines the selected contents and reference materials of the Modern Poetry Codex,and analyzes the compilation concepts and characteristics of the anthology on this basis.Modern Poetry is arranged by poetry genre and poet group,with a wide range of selected poems and a rich selection of poetry genres,but there is an imbalance on the whole.In terms of reference materials,the main sources of Modern Poetry are 18 anthologies,4 anthologies and 9 periodicals.On the one hand,Wen Yiduo pays attention to the diversity of genre styles,subject themes,and poetry forms;On the other hand,it not only attaches importance to the social publicity effect of poetry,but also emphasizes the artistic charm of poetry,so that the anthology presents the characteristics and concepts of the selection of poems that are diversified and take into account "efficiency" and "value".The second chapter is based on the content of the selected works of Modern Poetry,and explores the poetic view of language and rhythm from the perspective of poetry selection and poetry modification.One of the linguistic views is the thinking about cross-stylistic language forms.He put forward the concept of "pure form" in the early days,the specific connotation of which is the theory of "three beauty",and with the development of the times and poetry,the later thinking of "non-poeticization" appeared,both of which are reflected in the Modern Poetry Copy.Second,Wen Yiduo not only accepts poems containing traditional poetry characteristics and folk forms,but also gives the selected language national characteristics;It is also noted that poetry,which absorbs real and Western resources,gives the spirit of the age to the selected language.The ensemble of national characteristics and zeitgeist makes the anthology present an eclectic language style.Rhythm is the inner soul of poetry,Wen Yiduo arranges and combines the stanzas of the selected poems of the "Modern Poetry Copy",adds,modifies and deletes the punctuation marks of the selected poems,and adjusts the words of the selected poems to achieve the purpose of coordinating the audiovisual rhythm,adjusting the semantic rhythm,controlling and expressing the emotional rhythm,reflecting the rhythmic concept of "tailoring".The final chapter explores the historical significance and literary value of Modern Poetry.The significance of "history" is reflected in the fact that Wen Yiduo regards the Modern Poetry Copy as "epic poetry" and "poetry history",so that the anthology not only records and retains social history,but also participates in the construction of poetic history.In addition to the preservation and construction of "history",Modern Poetry also has literary value,firstly,it has a certain impact on the construction of poetry classics;Second,it advocates the aesthetic direction of poetry with people’s nature and reality.From the perspective of the future development direction and dissemination and acceptance of poetry,Modern Poetry is historically rational and forward-looking.
