Film is the carrier of virtual and reality,and it reflects the art of time and space of the real society by shaping the character image.In film creation,people are the core elements of creation.Not only does it undertake to promote the development of the story but also it’s the core and soul of the whole movie.Psychology is a subject to study the function of human’s psychology and mental.It has become the background and tools for film creation and it has deepened audience’s cognition of human behavior.The theory of psychological defense mechanism was put forward by Freud’s psychoanalysis.The essence is a function of self-defense and protection when individuals are frustrated.The text was based on the psychological defense theory vision so that it can explore the characterization in movies.It started from the graduation work “China of Tang Di”.It analysed the game of character personality in the film through image processing,character construction and emotional expression.It can interpret comprehensively the psychological environment of the main characters in the film and the reasons for their reactions and the corresponding theoretical mechanism.And then it can help us in a more correct way to treat the self function from the external pressures.It can make me realize my self-value and significance.
