| As one of the popular forms of network variety shows in recent years,talk shows are widely welcomed by creating new topics and integrating them into popular culture to convey fresh ideas and values and cater to the diversified lifestyles and cultural preferences of the audience with an attitude of equal dialogue.Among them,"Talk Show" with fresh topic creativity,quality topic content,unique topic perspective,to meet the diverse needs of the audience,a large number of fans.The "use and satisfaction" model proposed by E.Katz et al.summarized media contact behavior as a causal chain process of "social factors + psychological factors → media expectation → media contact → demand satisfaction" and revealed the sources of audience satisfaction through media use: media content,media contact itself and media contact context.Talk show,as a talk-oriented program form,has topic as its main content,so its selection orientation must be based on the needs of the audience,so as to achieve long-term development.In this context,this paper applies the use and satisfaction theory to the topic selection research of Talk Show Conference,and explores the topic selection planning,topic content selection and development methods with the help of text analysis.On this basis,questionnaires and in-depth interviews are used to analyze the audience’s demand satisfaction after they contact the topic content of the program.It is found that the topic content of Talk Show covers many fields,showing the characteristics of both timeliness and closeness,entertainment and humor blending,objective reflection and subjective emotion co-existing.The way of topic introduction is direct,and the continuation and conversion are more in line with the audience’s habits.The hot topic content,the trend performance can meet the information needs of the audience to a certain extent;The carefulness and closeness of the topic content can meet the emotional needs of the audience to a high degree.The humor and entertainment of its topic content can meet the needs of the audience to relieve pressure to a high degree;The value orientation and reflection of the topic content can meet the audience’s individual integration needs to a high degree.The publicity and shareability of the topic content can meet the social integration needs of the audience to a certain extent.In addition,audiences with different gender,age,education background and occupation also have differences in interactive behavior and demand satisfaction."Talk Show" does have some advantages in topic selection,but it also has some shortcomings,such as too many shallow discussion of topics,a high degree of homogeneity,the boundary is gradually framed and other problems still need to be solved.In the future,the content optimization of this kind of program should further study and grasp the needs of the audience,innovate the theme while focusing on in-depth narration,and extend the vision to more areas of life,so as to achieve healthy development. |
