Female Figures In Gu Kaizhi’s Paintings

Under the different times background,the birth of the painting works are also different,in the Chinese ancient painting history,there are many female image works spread to this day.Gu Kaizhi was an outstanding painter in the Eastern Jin dynasty.He made outstanding achievements in both painting and literature,thus a number of classic female images were born in his works.This thesis is divided into three parts.The first part is to analyze and understand Gu Kaizhi’s works.The Admonitions Scroll,the Wise and Benevolent Women and the Fu of Luo Shen are representative works of female images,compared with the rigid and unitary female images in the previous dynasties,Gu Kaizhi’s paintings have a broader space of expression and a more aesthetic function than the didactic function.The second part summarizes the inspiration of the female form in Gu Kaizhi’s paintings to my creation,and helps me to finish my paintings in both thought and practice.The third part is what I’ve learned from my writing.Today’s Society is more than a thousand years away from Gu Kaizhi’s time,on the one hand,I feel from Gu Kaizhi’s paintings that I should learn from his innovative spirit of actively seeking change in the old ways,on the other hand,today’s women get rid of the feudal concept of the shackles can be more free to convey a variety of female images,the expression of a more colorful female voice.
