Caidiao Opera is a local traditional opera in Guangxi, which has a history of more than a hundred years. So far, besides traditional operas, many modern Caidiao operas have been created. In many traditional Caidiao operas, female characters are mostly controlled by patriarchy, and are in the historical context of aphasia and construction by male discourse. The original Caidiao opera Si Gu Niang is a play in the form of Caidiao to interpret the awakening and resistance of the actors represented by Si Gu Niang in their miserable life.Si Gu Niang broke through the old feudal custom of women do not sing Caidiao opera and bravely appeared on the stage, and took the lead in leading the foreman club into the city to sing Caidiao oprea, during which she experienced the hardships of betrayal by her friends, oppression by her peers and official prohibition of the tune.Although Si Gu Niang was harassed by Mr.Zhu and others, she gradually awakened under the influence of Liang Youwen and Qiu Pu,and realized spiritual transformation and personal growth. The female characters in Si Gu Niang are also oppressed by patriarchy, losing the right to speak and becoming the standard women constructed by male discourse. They get rid of the spiritual dilemma of collective unconsciousness through self-will and baptism of others, and directly impact patriarchy and try to deconstruct its authority. In order to safeguard its own interests and eliminate the threat of female discourse to male power, patriarchy controls female discourse, which makes women lose their right to speak and causes the lack of women’s presence. At the same time, patriarchy also uses male discourse to construct female subject, which leads to women losing themselves completely and becoming female subject with universal significance.Foucault analyzed the process of the subject being constructed in detail, but the way he put forward that the subject resists being constructed is slightly negative. The female characters in Si Gu Niang adopt a partial resistance strategy to fight for women’s discourse power and subvert men’s discourse, gradually deconstructing the constructed female subject, and the purpose of resistance is not to reconstruct the unified subject identity, but to pursue physical and spiritual freedom. This illustrates the effectiveness of Foucault’s way of resisting power, which is of practical significance to the study of feminism. At the same time, the Caidiao opera Si Gu Niang takes women as the narrative subject, the lively style can not hide the serious nature of the content, the characters and plots are permeated with the spirit of freedom, fully demonstrating the female consciousness, with profound aesthetic value, cultural value and practical significance.
