A Practice Report On The C-E Translation Of Study On Activities Recognizing Method Of Multi-players Of Video Of Football Game(Excerpts)

With the continuous deepening of the commercialization and professionalization of football,the football economy and industry have developed to different degrees around the world.The recognition and understanding of the team behavior of football players are very important research topics in artificial intelligence,computer science,and other fields,and the research results have very important practical significance.Therefore,the source text of this translation practice is from Chapter 4 Behavior Recognition of Multi-players in the Video of Football Game and Chapter 5 Behavior Recognition of Multi-players Based on Transfer Learning of Study of the book Study on Activities Recognizing Method of Multi-players of Video of Football Game.Based on this Chinese-English translation practice,the translator’s subjectivity,the process of monitoring,some normative restrictions and the application of translation skills in this translation practice are all reported in this translation report,and a large number of translation cases are selected and discussed.The report consists of the following five parts: the first part briefly introduces the background and purpose of the translation project,the requirements and significance of the project,and the structure of this report.The second part is a description of the whole translation process,which is divided into three stages: pre-translation,while-translation and post-translation.The third part introduces Toury’s translation norms theory,the literature review and the guidance of Toury’s translation norms for translating scientific and technical texts.The fourth part is translation practice guided by Toury’s translation theory.The last part is a summary of this translation practice report by the translator.According to Gideon Toury,norms govern all kinds of translation,and all translation activities are limited by certain sociocultural norms.Toury divides translation norms into three types: preliminary norms,initial norms and operational norms,which are also coordinated with different stages of the translation process.On the premise of fully understanding and interpreting Toury’s translation norms theory,the translator applied the theory to guide this translation practice.Through this translation practice,the translator realized that the text selection and the preparation of pre-translation under the preliminary norms and the macroscopic consideration of translation tendency under the initial norms guarantee the smooth implementation of translation activities and the direction of the translation language,while the application of translation skills at the microscopic level under the operational norms assures the quality of the translation.By putting forward the challenges encountered in this translation practice and its own shortcomings and limitations,the translator gives corresponding implications and suggestions and hopes that this report can provide some reference and inspiration for the translation practice of the same type of texts.
