| The Compilation of Ancient Chinese Painting Theories is an informative monograph compiled by Mr.Yu Jianhua from the Spring and Autumn Period to the Qing Dynasty,which has great historical linguistic value.The Yuan Dynasty was a turning point in the development of ancient Chinese painting.The discussion of painting words in the Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties can provide a glimpse of the language use at that time from the perspective of painting words,and can also supplement and improve the lack of research on specialized vocabulary in ancient China.The article sorted out and classified 1268 painting words mentioned in the painting theory of the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties in the Collection of Ancient Chinese Painting Theories,which were divided into four categories from a synchronic perspective,namely,299 painting names,335 painting supplies,359 painting techniques and 275 painting comments.It can be divided into three categories from a diachronic perspective: 185 in the Yuan Dynasty,321 in the Ming Dynasty,and 762 in the Qing Dynasty.The article uses the method of sememe analysis and descriptive interpretation to describe and analyze the four categories of words in detail,mainly discusses the categories of painting utensils and color words,and distinguishes the meaning of some words that are still unclear.The structural types were analyzed,and it was found that the composite word structure types included joint,complementary,formal,and verb-object,and the number of partial formal structures was the largest,while the structural types of phrases are subject-predicate,joint and partial formal.This paper analyzes the system of painting words in "The Collection of Ancient Chinese Painting Theories" from multiple angles.For example,aggregation is mainly manifested in phonetic,semantic and grammatical structures: aggregation in phonetic is mainly manifested in monosyllabic,polysyllabic and polysyllabic words;aggregation in semantic is mainly synonymous,antonymous and hyponymic;aggregation in grammatical structures is mainly joint,positive and verb-object relations;structural aggregation is also manifested in syntagmatic relations in grammatical structures.For another example,from the perspective of the overall characteristics of vocabulary,there is a trend of large numbers and rich image colors,the system of two-tone compound words tends to be improved,the spoken language in written language increases,and the contact with foreign languages and cultures increases.Based on existing research,the author comprehensively analyzes painting terms from the pre-Qin to Qing dynasties from the perspective of duration,and found that the number and types of painting words have been greatly developed in the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties.Some painting words have also experienced the change process of meaning connotation and extension.Some painting words have certain relevance with ordinary words,reflecting the conversion and universality of specific and ordinary sememes of words,and the stability of the old Chinese dictionary system can be promoted.Finally,it explores the culture and concepts implicit in it from a linguistic perspective.The words such as painting names,utensils,and techniques reflect the development of traditional Chinese painting in terms of theme,color selection,and personality pursuit;The words of painting evaluation reflect the transformation of painting concepts in the Yuan,Ming,and Qing dynasties from "imitating the ancient" to "spiritual" and "self".Briefly presents the changes in the artistic culture and painting ideas of traditional painting from a synchronic and diachronic perspective. |
