Freud’s psychoanalysis had a profound impact on the surrealist school of painting,which provided a theoretical basis for surrealist painters to express the human inner world,explore the connotation behind human consciousness and dreams.Surrealist painters present a unique spiritual world by expressing deep emotions and thoughts such as fear,desire,and unconsciousness within human hearts,and this form of expression has a strong visual impact.The painter believes that dreams represent a more real existence than reality,and attempts to unify dreams with reality,using non-traditional techniques and materials as well as a series of symbolic metaphors to express the theme,Exploring the deeper and more mysterious essence of human existence,thus arousing resonance and reflection among viewers.Dreams are conversations between the subconscious self.The pace of modern society is fast,and people’s life pressure is also increasing.Dreams,as an individual’s real experience,can always reveal people’s internal psychology and desire expression.With the guidance of dreams,readers can be guided to release their inner pressure and face their inner needs.American psychologist Maslow proposed the hierarchy of needs theory,which is the highest level of self actualization needs.Each level of needs needs needs to be met before entering the next higher level of needs;Dreams are an unconventional psychological state that humans experience during sleep,and the content of dreams can reflect people’s subconscious emotions,experiences,and needs.Therefore,the plot and content that people experience in their dreams may reflect their current level of needs,and may also affect their pursuit of self actualization needs.This article,based on rich literature,first elaborates on the background of the topic and analyzes the current research status at home and abroad.Through the analysis and summary of existing literature research,it is found that there is relatively more surrealism research abroad,while there is relatively little related research in China,and its main research is still focused on painting.The author takes this as the theoretical basis,and then analyzes the emergence and style of surrealism from the research of picture books.It briefly sorts out the application of surrealism in painting and design.Through the analysis and summary of excellent surrealist cases at home and abroad,the key elements of surrealist picture book creation are proposed,such as breaking through traditional imaginative visual effects,fantasy story plots,imaginative color composition Diversified expressions,metaphorical symbols,and open imaginative spaces,and elaborated on the implementation methods and techniques of these elements.This graduation project "Addiction" is a surrealist picture book with the theme of "Dreams",telling the story of the protagonist Xiaolu’s "Search for Dreams".Through surrealist expression,one can delve deeper into one’s subconscious,discover more unique and rich creative inspiration,and be better at perceiving one’s own emotions.By using surrealist expression techniques to transform dreams into concrete things,the author’s inner world and emotions can be expressed. |
