The focus of the subject of International Chinese Language Education is in fact on language teaching,and as language and culture are inseparable and intertwined,cultural teaching is an essential part of language teaching.At the same time,as teaching materials are an important tool for teachers and a direct source of knowledge for students,the role of cultural materials cannot be ignored and it is essential to study them accordingly.In this paper,the cultural textbook Chinese Traditional Culture and Modern Life(Advanced Cultural Reader for International Students)is selected as the object of study.The cultural points covered in the textbook are sorted out and analysed using the Cultural Point Classification Framework for International Chinese Language Teaching Materials developed by the International Chinese Language Teaching Materials Research and Development Base of Sun Yat-sen University,and through questionnaires and interviews,the views of international students and professional Chinese language teachers on different cultural points are examined and compared with the cultural points in the textbook.Through questionnaires and interviews,we examine the views of international students and professional Chinese language teachers on different cultural points and compare them with the textbook’s cultural points classification,and propose some directions for optimising the cultural points set in the international Chinese language education textbook.The first part is the introductory section,which firstly introduces the purpose and significance of the study,and compares the current situation and limitations of research on international Chinese language education culture textbooks,and finally elaborates the research ideas of this paper.In the second part,the cultural points contained in Chinese Traditional Culture and Modern Life(Advanced Cultural Reader for International Students)are classified according to the Cultural Point Classification Framework for International Chinese Language Teaching Materials,and the percentage of different cultural points in the textbook is compiled and objectively analyzed according to the classification results.In the third part,a questionnaire survey and interviews are conducted with international students and Chinese language teachers to examine their views on the setting of cultural points in the textbook,and the results are compared with the cultural points in the textbook in the second part to analyse the rationality of the cultural points in the textbook and to provide reference for the development of cultural textbooks.The fourth part is an in-depth reflection on the development of culture teaching materials and culture teaching in international Chinese education based on the conclusions drawn in the previous section,with a view to providing reference for the development of culture teaching materials in the future.
