A Study Of Science Fiction By Chinese Female Writers In The New Century

As a product of the combination of science and literature,science fiction creates a thinking space for the integration of rationality and sensibility,which includes diverse perspectives that goes beyond the limitations of time and space.Throughout the historical context of Chinese science fiction literature,women have been writing in science fiction actively since the 1990 s,and they have formed a coexistence of the old,the middle-aged and the young generations until 21 st century.In recent years,these female writers appeared at some science fiction award ceremonies frequently,such as the Nebula Award,the Galaxy Award,the Hugo Award and other science fiction award ceremonies.In the field of science fiction,they have created a rich female image,and opened up a feminine thinking space.They have been trying to break the inherent label of "masculinity",and became a new force with excellent creative achievements that can’t be underestimated in the field of contemporary science fiction literature.Since the beginning of the new century,the participation of female writers has not only promoted the prosperity and development of science fiction,but also provided a practical research port with its practical significance and academic value.This paper consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The part of introduction clarifies the creative context of female writers in the process of Chinese science fiction,and defines the relevant concepts and writers’ works involved in this study.At the same time,it also introduces the status and development trend of science fiction in the new century and explains the research methods and value of this topic.The text section consists of three chapters.The first chapter describes the main content of science fictions wrote by females since the new century,and grasps the characteristics of them through the combination of the overall appearance of Chinese science literature,and clarifies the influence of gender in writing.The second chapter presents the individual spirit,social humanity and life philosophy composed by women in their poetic imagination from the aspects of narrative structure,perspective and language.The last chapter discusses the value of female science fiction creation and its future development prospect since the new century from three dimensions:science fiction poetics,female viewpoint and local experience.The conclusion part extracts the emotional factors,micro perspective,philosophical thinking and other factors highlighted by female writers in science fiction creation,and point out the shortcomings and improvement directions of the research.It is a new era that female science fiction writers are on the rise.The development of the society has stimulated the expression desire of the female writers.Science fiction is no longer synonymous with men,and the intervention of women leads to qualitative change in this area,which not only means a change in the number of writers,but also shows that women’s struggle for discourse power gradually gains results.Female writers keep a clear mind in the thinking of science,technology and the future society,and they have created a batch of excellent works with rich personality color and unique aesthetic.By focusing on the science fiction works of female writers since the new century,we can promote the development of the research on the relationship between science fiction and gender consciousness,and the public will also pay more attention to the science fiction novels written by female and even female writing,so as to understand the overall appearance of Chinese science fiction literature more comprehensively.
