| The body reaction of the experiencer is an important representation of the artistic tension of the interactive device.By mobilizing multi-sensory interactive experience,the audience generates perceptual intention for the installation works.This way of "recognizing the world" has strong metaphorical characteristics.While inheriting the traditional audio-visual sensory design mode,designers explore the multi-sensory application design method in interactive devices.As an indispensable link in multi-sensory experience,olfactory sense is superior to other senses,because of its rich correlation between signifier and signified,and its experience mode of "wanting to speak but stopping".Research on olfactory application design in interactive devices from the perspective of metaphor can not only help designers express deeper thoughts,but also facilitate audiences to understand the meanings and symbols of sensory symbols in works.Based on this,this paper takes metaphor as the research perspective,takes interactive device as the research carrier,and takes olfactory application design as the research direction,it hopes to build a set of olfactory application design methods in interactive devices.Firstly,the characteristics and composition of interactive equipment are expounded,and the basic conditions for it to be an experience field are clarified.On the basis of explaining the physiological characteristics of olfactory perception,the application characteristics and experience components of olfactory perception in interactive devices are sorted out.From the perspective of metaphor mapping mechanism,the method of metaphor design is elaborated,and the mapping structure of olfactory metaphor expression is constructed.Secondly,the metaphorical transmission elements of odor are analyzed,and the metaphorical premise of olfactory application design in interactive devices is summarized.From the aspects of experience level,experience feeling and experience behavior,the experience-oriented design features of olfactory application design are summarized.From the perspective of time,space and emotion,the design significance of olfactory application design in extended experience is condensed.Then,the design method of olfactory application in interactive device is proposed.Using sensory symbols to shape the thematic content;Guide the audience to interact and stay in the experience space;Give symbolic meaning to enhance the emotional experience of the audience;Technology overlay to extend the audience’s sensory experience.Finally,according to the above design methods to guide practical creation,combined with questionnaire survey,odor sample experiment,odor symbol extraction and design.The presentation of the work of "Smell to nothing" verifies the olfactory application design method proposed in this paper,which has practical value in guiding design practice. |
