Identification Of Da Tang Gold

Daitang gold is a kind of medicinal gold which was handed down in the Tang Dynasty during the Zhenguan（贞观）period,and was obtained by Chengbi（成弼）（a Taoist priest’s attendant）who used the Dahuandan（大还丹）to embellish red copper.Medicine gold is the product of Taoism spagirism,that is,with the elixir pointing or gold and stone,herbs and wood medicine combined with the fake gold.At present,most of the research on medicinal gold in domestic academia is focused on the period from the 1980s to the beginning of the 21st century,which is also a period of richer research results of the whole alchemy.Taking Da tang gold as the entry point,we focus on collecting,organizing and summarizing the related medicinal gold including Da tang gold through the process of collating and analyzing the literature,ancient canonical texts and archaeological excavations related to Da tang gold,and examining all their anonymity and pseudonymity from the Qin（秦）and Han（汉）dynasties to the Tang（唐）and Song（宋）dynasties.Next is to use the literature method,combining literature and modern knowledge to reasonably analyze and reason about their raw materials and refining process,clarify the chemical reaction process and list out the reaction formula.Finally,we clarify the historical status and influence of spagirism in ancient China,as well as the scientific connotations embodied in it,which contributed to the development of world science.The kinds of medicine gold can be roughly divided into:copper-arsenic alloy（realgar gold,orpiment gold,Danyang（丹阳）gold）,copper-zinc alloy（gold of brass ore）,tin disulfide（colored gold）,amalgam（copper amalgam,gold amalgam,etc.）,non-alloy medicine gold（Xuanhuang（玄黄）,Huangdan（黄丹）,also Huandan（还丹）,black lead gold,etc.）.Comprehensive literature analysis,that the ignition of the red copper of the Dahuandan（大还丹）,the main components may have three,respectively,Hg S;Hg O and Hg S mixture;Hg O and Pb O,Pb₃O₄mixture.We can classify the elixir of the pointing agent as tansy,realgar and other sulfides or arsenic compounds,and the elixir of the basic metal of the pointing system as copper as"Da tang gold formula",then"Da tang gold"can be including such as realgar gold,orpiment gold of arsenic brass,colored gold and possibly copper-mercury medicine gold class and gold plating,including the alloy.
