At present, there are few research results on the bias of Chinese metaphorical and metonymic compound words. The existing research on teaching metaphorical and metonymic vocabulary in Chinese as a foreign language mostly puts forward teaching suggestions based on ontological analysis or comparison between Chinese and foreign languages, while few propose teaching strategies based on the results of error analysis.Based on this, this article uses literature review, questionnaire survey, error analysis, interviews, and comparative analysis to study the errors in the acquisition of implicit and metonymic compound words by mid to advanced Thai Chinese learners. It is found that Thai Chinese learners’ errors in using implicit and metonymic analogical compounds can be classified into two types: semantic errors and grammatical errors. On this basis, the author explores and summarizes the causes of errors in the use of implicit and metonymic analogical compounds by middle and advanced Thai Chinese learners, and puts forward teaching suggestions. The full text consists of an introduction and five chapters: The introduction section summarizes previous research findings on the ontology of Chinese metaphors and metonymic vocabulary and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, clarifying the research object, purpose, significance, and methods of this article; The first chapter classifies the semantic and structural types of metaphorical and metonymic compounds;Chapter 2: Statistics and analysis of the types of errors in the use of implicit and metonymic analogical compounds by mid to advanced Thai Chinese learners in the interlanguage corpus, and statistics and analysis of the types of errors in the use of implicit and metonymic analogical compounds by Thai Chinese learners in the questionnaire survey;Chapter Three analyzes the causes of errors in the acquisition of implicit and metonymic analogical compounds by middle and advanced Thai Chinese learners based on the results of questionnaires and interviews;Chapter Four, aiming at learners’ semantic and grammatical errors, proposes suggestions for classroom teaching and textbook compilation of implicit and metonymic compound words based on the causes of errors;Chapter 5 summarizes the content of this article. The survey found that:(1)The interpretation of metaphorical and metonymic compound words in textbooks tends to be simple and simple, and the interpretation language is concise, obscure, and difficult to understand;(2)Most Chinese teachers teach implicit and metonymic analogical compounds in a one-way way, lacking practice activities;(3)The main errors in the use of implicit and metonymic analogical compound words by middle and advanced Thai Chinese learners are semantic errors, with the worst effects on the acquisition of metaphorical analogical compound words with "behavioral activities","human organs",and "animals" as their metaphors;(4)The main reasons for errors in the use of implicit and metonymic analogical compounds by middle and advanced Thai Chinese learners are the complexity of the Chinese language itself, negative transfer of mother tongue, inadequate teacher teaching, and inadequate textbook preparation. |
