A Study On The Playing Techniques Of Pinghu School Of Pipa "XiaChulun"

In the circle of pipa,the well-known four traditional schools are "Wang School","Pudong School","Chongming School" and "Pinghu School".As one of the traditional schools of pipa,Pinghu School of pipa flourished during the reign of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty.It is a study art inherited by families,featuring mellow literati style,euphemistic,implicit and plain playing style,solid sound and rich singing quality.The release of the New Music of Thirteen Sets of Da Qu for the North and South School Lute symbolizes the establishment of Pinghu School Lute.The representative repertoire includes Pingsha Falling Wild Bird,Yangchun Ancient Song,Sai Shang Song,Small Nishang Song and Huaiyin Pingchu,etc.In terms of playing skills,the lute is colorful and famous for its plump,magnificent,deep and shallow distance.The application of techniques is extensive and changeable,and its playing characteristics are mainly manifested in the right hand techniques: In addition to the conventional "flick,pick,wheel,sweep,brush" and other techniques,there are "butterfly double fly","wheel plate","hanging wheel","full wheel" and other characteristic techniques,among which in the use of wheel refers to this technique,mainly to "out of the wheel".Although today’s pipa teaching materials rarely mention or mention the teaching content of "Xiashilun","Xiashilun" is particularly suitable for expressing the gentle and graceful style of Pinghu school and the soft and delicate timbour.In this paper,the author will focus on the study on the playing techniques of Pinghu School lute’s highly distinctive "Down out Lun",and try to find out the playing characteristics and rules of Pinghu School lute’s "Down out Lun" in the music through the performance and analysis of 5 representative works of Pinghu School lute,and try to summarize its characteristics,rules and playing experience.This paper tries to find out how to use "next out wheel" reasonably in pipa music outside Pinghu School.
