Research On The Construction And Development Of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Plant (1950-1965)

Before the founding of New China,the development of China’s heavy machinery industry was very weak,with few factories producing large-scale machinery and equipment.Most factories focused on assembling machines.With the gradual recovery of the national economy and the country’s need for large-scale machinery and equipment,China has decided to independently design and build the first heavy machinery factory in New China----Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory.The analysis and research of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory can help us understand the entire process of designing largescale machinery factories independently at that time,explore the development path of China’s machinery industry,and provide certain experience and historical inspiration for the construction and development of enterprises today.The construction and development of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory can be roughly divided into three stages,namely,"preparing to build the factory in 1950-1952","building while producing in 1953-1957",and "leading the production in 1958-1965".In the preparation stage for the construction of the factory,the whole country gave full support to Taizhong in completing the allocation of basic forces.The entire factory began to independently build and improve its infrastructure forces,and the Party,government,and labor groups strengthened their leadership centered on production and construction.In terms of the allocation of basic forces,the country fully supports the construction of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory from three aspects: materials,institutions,and talents.With the improvement of the factory construction force,Taizhong has stepped up construction through three levels: selecting the factory site,following the infrastructure construction procedures,and relying on its own construction team.Finally,the entire factory attaches great importance to construction,and the three main departments,the Party Committee,the labor union,and the Youth League Committee,cooperate together.The Party Committee attaches importance to production,the labor union cares about the lives of employees,and the Youth League Committee carries forward typical examples.The three complement each other and strengthen leadership in the factory.From national support to independent construction within the factory to strengthened leadership by the Party,government,and working groups,Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory has been independently built with the support of the state and its own efforts.After started construction,it began construction and production.During the first fiveyear plan period,during the construction and production phase,Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory conducted construction and production from three aspects: drawing on the experience of the Soviet Union,organizing production campaigns,and establishing incentive mechanisms.Taizhong was built on the basis of a lack of technical data and experience to learn from.In order to make the construction of the factory more reasonable,Taizhong rebuilt the factory to absorb Soviet experience in production in a timely manner,including modifying and inspecting the design,receiving Soviet guidance on infrastructure construction,and listening to Soviet experience in product production.With the help of Soviet experts,too much emphasis was gradually placed on building more standardized products.At the same time,a campaign of increasing production and saving money,a campaign of technological innovation,and a labor competition campaign were launched in the factory to speed up construction and production.In addition,Taizhong encourages employees to step up construction by strengthening ideological guidance,setting honor awards,and promoting employee welfare in the factory.Under the guidance of Soviet experts,the development of production movements in the factory,and the establishment of an incentive system,Taizhong finally completed the task of building the factory in 1958,gradually contributing to the development of the national heavy industry.After the completion of the factory,Taizhong focused on production for development.In the production leading stage,Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory gradually stepped into the production track,continued to strengthen technical guidance,focused on reform in production management,and gradually established a production position.Taizhong continues to focus on technological development,focusing on technology development and promoting production development through mass innovation,mechanized production,and collaborative operations.Technical advancement requires institutional management and support.Too much emphasis is placed on reform,with emphasis on innovation in enterprise management systems,product production management,and mechanical equipment,to promote product quality through production management.Through early efforts,Taizhong has finally implemented its production position,established a fixed enterprise alliance,established a support position,and significantly improved the results and benefits.Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Factory is the first heavy machinery factory
