“Three Gorges songs”is a vocal work with the unique folk customs and music characteristics of the Tujia ethnic group,created by the composer Mr.Wang Yuanping and lyricist Mr.Mou Lianjiu,based on the Tujia folk song "Dragon-boat melody".The creation of this work combines modern aesthetic consciousness and creative techniques,depicting the beautiful love of Tujia young men and women,their love for their hometown,and their positive and optimistic attitude towards life.It vividly portrays the unique folk customs of the Tujia ethnic group and has distinct characteristics of the times and the Xiajiang region.This paper focuses on the research and discussion of the following issues regarding the creation of the song "Three Gorges songs" : the background of its creation,how the authors reflect the unique folk customs and musical elements of the Tujia ethnic group in the lyrics and melody,the feelings of performers in the process of singing,and the techniques and stage elements used to express these feelings.Based on these issues,the paper will be divided into the following chapters: Chapter One provides an overview of the creation of "Three Gorges songs".Starting from the Tujia ethnic folk customs,the background of the song’s creation,and the life and creative characteristics of the lyricist and composer,this chapter aims to understand and observe their humanistic feelings and artistic characteristics when creating music with the unique ethnic characteristics of the Tujia ethnic group.Chapter Two analyzes the lyrics and musical text of "Three Gorges songs".By analyzing the song,this chapter summarizes the regional dialects and music characteristics presented in the lyrics and musical text,providing a theoretical basis for the analysis of the song’s performance in the later chapters.Chapter Three,based on the conclusions drawn from the previous chapters,discusses and analyzes the techniques and stage elements that performers need to use in order to vividly portray the ethnic customs and character images in the song through their voice,diction,vocalization techniques,body language,and stage elements.The purpose of this paper is to understand and pass on the unique cultural characteristics of the Tujia ethnic group while providing a reference and inspiration for peers to further explore,interpret,and perform this work.
