A Study Of Ewenki Women And Their Musical Life From A Gender Perspective

Ewenki is an ethnic group with only language but no writing,so the transmission of its culture relies on the oral transmission from generation to generation,and its oral art carries the cultural memory of Ewenki people.Ewenki women have a unique social status in the process of social development,and the life of women is shown in their songs,the appearance of Ewenki women music group nowadays makes people ask why Ewenki women "sing".In the development of Ewenki society,what are the changes of women’s "singing" ?In this paper,the women of Ewenki tribe in Inner Mongolia,including Solun,Tungus and Muklu,are taken as the object of study,and the purpose of this paper is to explore the emotional expression of Ewenki women in singing through the description of female image in Ewenki folk songs and the analysis of related folk song forms based on the perspective of gender studies and feminism.When we place the act of singing in the folk life of Ewenki women,how to achieve the purpose of gender role construction through the act of singing in the ritual life and daily life,we discuss what kind of changes Ewenki women have undergone in the process of social development based on the account of Ewenki women’s musical life,and how such changes constitute the concept of gender in the community and their role construction and identity as women through singing.The study of gender is an important part of the current ethnography.The study of gender has gradually developed into an "epistemology" in ethnomusicological research,and the study of female music groups of ethnic minorities helps to explore the interaction between music and gender concepts in ethnic groups through the perspective of both genders,and to discover the influence of gender concepts on traditional music.
