A Musical Study Of Zhang Shuwen’s Piano Poem Of Solar Terms

Zhang Shuwen,a young Chinese composer,is now working in the piano Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.The piano piece "Solar Term Poem" is selected from the final piece of the large-scale piano set "24 Solar Terms" written by Zhang Shuwen in 2016.Zhang Shuwen’s piano song "Solar Term Poem" is a summary of the 24 solar terms through the long-term accumulation of Chinese people’s experience and inheritance of the ancient Chinese calendar and agricultural civilization,through the combination of western composing techniques and styles of western music with traditional cultural elements and folk song melody,to create the characteristics of each solar term.It depicts the change of natural rhythm and praises the accumulated achievements and wisdom of the Chinese working people.This paper is divided into three parts:the first part introduces composer Zhang Shuwen and his main piano works as well as the creation background of Solar Term Poem.Through the introduction of the composer and the creation background of "Solar Term Poem" to understand and research.The second part analyzes the music ontology,analyzes the musical structure,tonality,national melody characteristics and the integration of Chinese national mode and western major and minor keys of the Poem,and carries out the research and analysis of the Poem from a more detailed level.The composer combines western composing techniques with traditional cultural elements and folk melody.It embodies Zhang Shuwen’s integration of Chinese and Western ideas into his piano works when he created "Solar Term Poem",and also provides theoretical support and bedding for the interpretation of the third part.The third part analyzes the playing skills of"Solar Term Poem".This paper analyzes the treatment of irregular tone forms,the use of grace notes,the imitation of timbre of national instruments and other aspects.Combined with the detailed analysis of music theory in the above part,the author further summarizes the artistic characteristics of this piece through performance,so as to better interpret the musical image and sound effect of this piece.Through the analysis and research of the music ontology and playing skills of Zhang Shuwen’s Solar Term Poem,combined with the author’s own performance interpretation,thinking and experience of the work,this paper provides a strong theoretical support for the performance of Solar Term Poem,and provides a reference for the following scholars to study Chinese piano works in the new era.
