Research On Improvisational Expression In Figurative Ceramics Creation In The Context Of Contemporary Ceramic Art

Contemporary ceramic art has been in China for more than 40 years.Although some ceramic artists who have focused on figurative sculpture as their main creative theme have completed the localization of contemporary ceramic art concepts and forms,forming their own unique language style and producing works that reflect the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures,most practitioners in the vast traditional ceramic production areas and among graduates of ceramic programs in colleges and universities either cling to traditional themes and styles or simply copy the surface forms of Western contemporary ceramic art.Against the backdrop of the further integration of global information and culture,ceramic artists must study the methodology of ceramic art creation,explore the relationship between creative content and expressive form,and enrich the creative artistic thinking in figurative sculpture creation in order to establish a distinctive style and identity,create a local ceramic art vocabulary that reflects the spirit of the times,and break through the inertia of aesthetic and formal styles in figurative sculpture.This article focuses on the study of the specific mechanisms behind the use and effects of "improvisation expression" in figurative sculpture creation.Through literature review and analysis to clarify the concept,as well as field research and case analysis to understand the mechanism of improvisation expression in figurative sculpture creation,the article aims to clarify the specific role of improvisation expression in the spiritual expression and formal language construction of figurative sculpture creation.By summarizing personal experimental results and practical experience,the article further summarizes a reference improvisation expression methodology based on personal experience and insights.This article outlines the causes and mechanisms behind the use of improvisation expression in figurative sculpture creation,and concludes that improvisation expression has a positive impact on spiritual expression and formal language exploration in the process.A deeper understanding is that improvisation expression is a method that can fully mobilize personal subconsciousness and emotional feelings,break free from rationality and dogma,and translate fleeting improvisational consciousness and emotional flow into a visible methodology of sculptural form language.This methodology can provide a reference for ceramic artists to explore and establish their own personal style of formal language,and may reveal the spiritual values of contemporary Chinese figurative sculpture creation,providing a model for the transformation of traditional figurative sculpture into the contemporary context.
