From Tool To Using Being

As a contemporary Japanese Marxist philosopher,Hiromatsu Wataru,while studying Marxist philosophy intensely,has also been deeply involved in modern Western philosophy.He has paid particular attention to Heidegger’s theory of tool in Being and Time,critically interpreted Heidegger’s discussion of apparatus,and constructed his own thought of using being.Unlike Heidegger,Hiromatsu Wataru basically calls all things presented to human beings as using being,that is,as long as the thing presented to human beings has a certain meaning,then the thing can be called using being,and using being is not an independent entity,but a relational existence,which is composed of the two-limbed construction of the real and the value of meaning.In response to Kant’s legacy of the problem of the thing it self and a priori form of understanding,he draws on Mach’s monism of elements,Husserl’s theory of intentionality,and Emile Durkheim discussion of "social facts".It is by drawing on the ideas of these thinkers that he constructs his own use-in thought.In his criticism and revision of Heidegger’s theory of tool,he illustrates the uniqueness of his own using being thought in a reverse way.His criticism is not a misunderstanding of Heidegger,as some researches say,but a careful criticism based on a full dialogue with Heidegger’s philosophy,and his criticism of Heidegger’s idea of the appliance reveals his own anti-realism position.The basis for his criticism of Heidegger lies in his profound understanding of historical materialism,and the fact that he draws on historical materialist theory also provides a perspective for existential analysis of historical materialist theory,offering new research paths for many classical topics in Marxist philosophical studies.As far as Hiromatsu Wataru idea of using being is concerned,it has a strong originality in its active dialogue with Heidegger’s philosophy while inheriting and developing the theory of historical materialism,which is a strong inspiration and reference for the construction of Marxist philosophical theory in China today,especially for the study of the relationship between Marxist philosophy and Heidegger’s philosophy.However,there may be some misuse of historical materialist theory in Hiromatsu Wataru’s interpretation of using being,which has attracted some criticism.
