| The CCTV documentary “Dunhuang Musical Instruments-Music from Murals” was jointly produced by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and the Gansu Provincial Cultural Industry Development Group.The documentary uses narrative and storytelling techniques to describe the whole process of Dunhuang mural musical instruments,from graphics to design drawings and then to physical objects for performance under the imitation and innovation of researchers and local folk music masters.The charm and thousand-year inheritance of ancient Chinese musical instruments are also presented.Therefore,this report selects this documentary as the data,aiming to make the world better understand the artistic charm of Dunhuang culture,show the exchange and collision of Eastern and Western civilizations on the Silk Road,and the inheritance and innovation of excellent Chinese traditional culture.The main problem encountered in this consecutive interpretation is cognitive efforts overload.The factors that lead to cognitive efforts overload include the following aspects:complicated professional knowledge,dialect,inaccurate meaning analysis,chaotic notes,insufficient working memory,psychological tension and anxiety,and subtitle interference.According to Gile’s Effort Model Theory,this thesis puts forward corresponding solutions of cognitive efforts overload and reasonably allocates various parts of cognitive efforts,including enriching professional knowledge,improving and simplifying the note-taking system,strengthening the ability to extract chunks,and improving psychological quality as well as multi-task processing ability.This consecutive interpretation report puts forward corresponding solutions to the above problem of cognitive efforts overload.Hopefully,the above solutions can help interpreters improve interpretation quality and provide a reference for the consecutive interpretation of Dunhuang,musical instruments,and murals. |
