Since the 18th Party Congress,Xi Jinping has quoted extensively from the scriptures in numerous speeches,conferences and reports,expressing a series of important discussions on historical learning.The thesis consists of three parts: the introduction,the body and the conclusion.The introduction section describes the background and significance of the study,the current state of research at home and abroad,the research ideas and methods,and the innovations and shortcomings.The main text is divided into four parts.In the first part,the theoretical sources and practical foundations of Xi Jinping’s important discourse on historical learning are analyzed.From the theoretical sources,the understanding of history by classic Marxist writers and successive leaders of the Chinese Communist Party is taken as the theoretical source,while drawing on the discourses on historical learning in traditional Chinese culture.Its practical basis is the current state of affairs of the world,the state of the nation and the state of the Party.In the second part,the main elements of Xi Jinping’s important discourse on history learning are summarized,which needs to be approached from four perspectives.Firstly,it is clear that the goal of history learning is to understand the reasoning of history learning,to appreciate the virtue of history learning,to achieve the confidence of history learning,and to achieve the power of history learning.Secondly,it is clear that the content of history study includes learning the basic historical facts of the Four Histories,learning the basic laws of history,learning valuable historical experiences and traditions,and learning the spirit of great historical initiatives.Again,the principles of history learning are provided,namely,to uphold a broad historical perspective on history,to adhere to a materialistic historical perspective on history,and to establish a historical mindset to grasp history.Finally,the path to learning history is discussed from a practical perspective: strengthening history education and propaganda,preserving and using historical resources,and doing historical narratives and research.These four aspects are intrinsically linked and have a logical unity.The third part outlines the basic features of Xi Jinping’s important discourses on history learning.These important statements reflect the unity of historicity and relevance,rooted in history and oriented towards reality;the unity of inheritance and innovation,inheriting the scientific theories of their predecessors and making some original contributions;and the unity of theory and practice,with a deep theoretical foundation and constant development in practice,and guiding new practice.In the fourth part,the value of Xi Jinping’s times on historical learning is summarized.Xi Jinping’s discussion of historical learning is strongly marked by the times and contains profound theoretical and practical values.Theoretically,it is reflected in the enrichment of Marxism’s materialistic view of history,which enriches the connotation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and provides theoretical guidance for history learning in the new era;practically,it is reflected in the enhancement of historical confidence to firmly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the grasp of historical facts to resist the wrong trend of historical nihilism,and the drawing on historical wisdom to continue the great cause of national rejuvenation.The concluding section is a summary of the whole text,and at the same time offers an outlook for the continued in-depth study of Xi Jinping’s important discourse on history learning in the future.
