Collation Of GuoMoruo’s Buci Tongzuan

Guo Moruo,a famous modern writer,historian and ancient literal scholar,left many academic works in various branches of paleography,among which Buci Tongzuan is his first systematic textual research on Oracle Bone Inscriptions ’s works.Besides summarizing the opinions of predecessors,the book also created its own theory and established a scientific classification system of Oracle inscriptions,which made great achievements and represented Guo Moruo ’s early research level and achievements in Oracle bones.Buci Tongzuan is a textual research with essays,which is concise and easy to understand for readers.It is considered as an introductory book for beginners in Oracle Bone Inscriptions.Therefore,this book has high academic value.With the continuous publication of Oracle Bone Inscription’s textual research results,it is particularly important to collate and annotate this book.This thesis,taking Buci Tongzuan as the research object,refer to the generally accepted results of the textual research on Oracle bones,proofreads this book,and summarizes the achievements,shortcomings and influences of this book.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the main body of the article is divided into three parts.The first part is Guo Moruo ’s life and writings,summarizing Guo Moruo ’s life experience and his writings in Oracle Bone Inscriptions,Jinwen and other ancient characters,and separately introducing Buci Tongzuan.The second part is the textual research on the textual annotation of Buci Tongzuan.In thesis,199 unexplained words and misinterpreted words were selected from this book.Combined with the collected works such as Jiagu Wenzi Gulin,Jiagu Wenzi Gulin Bubian and some latest textual research results,the errors of the book ’s explanatory words were corrected and the textual research of the unexplained words was completed.The third part is the evaluation of Buci Tongzuan.This thesis analyzes and discusses the outstanding achievements of this book in the field of Oracle bone from these aspects:collecting the date of Oracle bone,binding the fragments of Oracle bone and textual research of Shang Wang’s department,etc.The thesis discusses the shortcomings of the book in textual research and interpretation from these aspects: limited research materials,misleading by him and immature methods of textual research and interpretation,etc.And discusses the influence of this book on later generations from these aspects: guiding principle,scientific research spirit and academic style,etc.
