The Catastrophe Of Jing-xiang: The Writing About The Troubled Times In Jing-xiang Area In Yi Jian Zhi

In the second year of Jingkang(1127),the Jin Dynasty sacked Dongjing,the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty.The Central Plains was plunged into war,which subsequently led to the fall of the Northern Song Dynasty and the migration of the Song family southwards.Then,King Kang Zhao gou assumed the throne at Yingtian prefecture and established Southern Song Dynasty,which lasted 152 years.Since then,the Jingxiang area has been an important strategic frontline and military stronghold for the Southern Song Dynasty.It was against this background of political and military turmoil that the people of Jing-xiang lived in a state of perpetual warfare and social disorder.There is no shortage of holistic studies and grand historical narratives on the Song Dynasty,but beyond the mainstream narratives should be included the changes in the lives the people and their psychology brought about by political changes,economic development,ideologic changes and social transformation,and more should be done to show the lives of the people of the region and listen to their voices.As a mirror of social life from the late Northern to the early Southern Song Dynasties,the Yi Jian Zhi provides concrete and microscopic historical material for the study of song Dynasty society and culture,and is an important text for academic discussion and research,which region studies are an oft-told perspective.The paper focuses on the specific and unique geographical unit of the Jing-xiang area,starting with the Yi Jian Zhi,which contains over one hundred and twenty stories about Jing-xiang.The main focus of this paper is on how the people of Jing-xiang explained and coped with the disasters,how they struggled to survive in the tide of history,how soothed their traumatized hearts,and how they rebuilt social order.The paper is divided into five main sections for detailed discussion:Firstly,sort out the general situation of Jing-xiang area in Song Dynasty and explain the concept used in this paper.Combined with the official history archives,local chronicles and other relevant historical materials,a preliminary understanding of the administrative division,geographical location and topography of Jing-xiang area in the Southern Song Dynasty is the premise to understanding the important position of Jingxiang area in the national defense of the Southern Song Dynasty.It is necessary to understand the important strategic position and historical mission of Jing-xiang area in the Southern Song Dynasty by analyzing the historical situation at the turn of the Song Dynasty from the perspective of the background of the times.Form the language to the cultural level,it analyzes the connotation of the concept of “the writing about the troubled times” and points out its formation background and specific manifestations,which is the key to combing the context of this article.The paper refers to the disaster and pain suffered by the Jing-xiang people in the stories under the troubled times,and discusses the suffering of the people in the detail from the three levels of life,society and mind.Secondly,the hardships in life suffered by the people of Jing-xiang were mainly caused by frequent natural disasters.This paper analyses the causes of various natural disasters based on the geographical location of the place,its vegetation environment,and the climate change of the Song Dynasty.At the same time,this paper analyses the understanding and response of the people to disasters from the text of the story,revealing a cultural system and knowledge system of its own,which is rich in local knowledge and metaphors for the current situation and morality of the people.Thirdly,the people of Jing-xiang experienced social hardships caused mainly by war,banditry,official misconduct and the lack of morality among the wealthy.Based on historical materials and stories,this paper analyzes the difficulties of the living conditions of Jing-xiang people in troubled times.People of different classes and different identities have suffered different degrees of damage in troubled times.This part digs out the spiritual core behind the storytelling by
