A Study On The Selection Of Drama Of Yuan Dynasty By Xi Jizi

Xi Jizi’s Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty is no longer a sufficient edition,and now there are 26 kinds of dramas,which can be found in the Ancient and Modern Drama of Mai Wangguan and the remnant edition of Xi Jizi Drama selected by Beijing Library.As an earlier anthology of dramas published in the Ming Dynasty,the anthology of dramas of the Yuan Dynasty retains the raw materials of many dramas of the Yuan Dynasty,and is of great value in document preservation and edition collation.The full text mainly includes three parts: the introduction,the text and the conclusion.The introduction mainly explains the purpose and significance of the topic,combs the present situation of the research on the Selected Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty,and puts forward the research problems and methods.The conclusion part combs the text of the article and emphasizes the literature value of the Anthology of Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty.The text takes the Selected Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty in Xi Jizi as the research object,which is mainly divided into four chapters.The first chapter first demonstrates the editor and printing format of Xi Jizi’s Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty,makes a textual research on Xi Jizi,negates the saying that Xi Jizi is Fang Jiugong,and explains the format of the engraving.Secondly,starting with the contents of the Selected Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty,the existing repertoire types of the Selected Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty include historical dramas,social dramas,family dramas,love dramas,customs dramas,official hidden dramas,Buddhism and Taoist dramas,and on this basis,the dramatic thoughts are summarized and analyzed.Finally,from the perspective of drama style,it shows that although the drama style of the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty is beginning to take shape under the intentional regulation of the literati in the Ming Dynasty,it still retains a lot of original characters of Yuan dramas,such as the rectification of various titles and the general title of the play,the form of the ending,changing the role of the lead singer and changing the palace tunes and so on.The second chapter mainly focuses on the collation value of the edition of Xi Jizi’s Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty.First of all,this paper compares the Selected Dramas of Yuan Dynasty with the pre-published dramas such as 30 Dramas of Yuan Dynasty,Legend of Yuan Xian and Ancient Famous Drama.It is found that the Selected Dramas of Yuan Dynasty are more or less the same as those of Yuan Dynasty,Legend of Yuan Xian and Ancient Famous Drama,and the Selected Dramas of Yuan Dynasty,Legend of Yuan Dynasty and Ancient Famous Drama should belong to the same version system.Thus it is considered that the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty is very close to the original appearance of the drama of the Yuan Dynasty.The third chapter collates the Selection of Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty with the later Selections of Yuan Opera and the Joint Selection of Ancient and Modern Famous Dramas.First of all,through the comparison between the Selection of Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty and the selections of Yuan Opera,it is found that there are great differences between them in style,object and lyrics,and it is concluded that the Selection of Dramas of the Yuan Dynasty have more characteristics of Yuan drama than the Selections of Yuan Opera.Then,by comparing the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty with the Joint Selection of Ancient and Modern Famous Drama,it is found that although the repertoire of the Joint Selection of Ancient and Modern Famous Drama is close to that of the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty,however,the Joint Selection of Ancient and Modern Famous Drama is greatly influenced by the Selection of Yuan Opera,and there are not many things that can be seen in the Joint Selection of Ancient and Modern Famous Drama and its original system.Finally,it shows that under the influence of Southern Drama,there are a large number of prompt actions "Jie" and "clown",highlighting the rarity and importance of the drama literature preserved in the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty.The fourth chapter main demonstrates the literature value and critical value of Xi Jizi’s Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty.First of all,from the aspects of the signature value,the literature preservation value of the original copy and the collation value of the non-isolated edition,this paper illustrates the important literature value of the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty because it retains the original appearance of the Yuan drama.Secondly,starting with the Preface of engraved Drama and the selected dramas,this paper probes into the drama view of Xi Jizi and the critical value of the selected works,and holds that the Selected Drama of the Yuan Dynasty are deeply influenced by the thoughts such as Zong Yuan.The Selection of Drama of Yuan Dynasty is regarded as the representative of the literature of the Yuan Dynasty,and the social function and literary function of the drama of the Yuan Dynasty are emphasized.
