The art of black and white woodcut printmaking in China has been developing since its birth.As a special form of printmaking with only black and white colors,it occupies an extremely important position in the history of Chinese printmaking art.Black and white woodcut printmaking,which uses a knife instead of a pen and uses strong black and white contrast to express the artist’s emotions,contains a unique rhythmic black and white artistic language.The rhythm and rhythm formed in this unique artistic form of black and white woodcut prints bring unique aesthetic feelings.This article mainly studies the rhythm of black and white woodcut prints,with a view to enriching the appreciation perspective of black and white woodcut prints,better understanding and exploring the artistic value of black and white woodcut works,thereby further understanding the deep spiritual core of black and white woodcut prints,and providing new thinking and direction for the author in the process of creating black and white woodcut works.The first chapter of this article is an overview of black and white woodcut and rhythm,discussing the "beauty of rhythm" in the aesthetic category of black and white woodcut prints from the concept of rhythm and the rhythm in black and white woodcut prints.The second chapter is about the artistic characteristics of rhythm.Through the understanding of rhythm and the analysis of famous works,it demonstrates how the regularity,repetition,and continuity of rhythm are reflected in the creation of black and white woodcut prints.The third chapter is about the visual expression of rhythm in black and white woodcut prints.Combining the analysis of the artistic characteristics of rhythm in the previous two chapters,it specifically demonstrates how the composition of dots,lines,planes,and black,white,and gray colors,as constituent elements in black and white woodcut prints,integrates the artistic characteristics of rhythm into the overall shaping of the screen in creation,It also elaborates on the aesthetic characteristics and phenomena of black and white woodcut prints in terms of artistic techniques and color composition.The fourth chapter is the creative practice of the "Creation" series of woodcut prints.It discusses how the author’s understanding of the rhythmic beauty in black and white woodcut prints is applied in the graduation creation of the "Creation" series.It elaborates on the exploration and expression of rhythm in the creative practice of black and white woodcut prints from three aspects: graduation creation topic selection,creative conception,and creative reflection. |
