Jian Jiang was a pioneering landscape painter in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties,whose works showed a steady,cool,dry-light and peaceful artistic style.Jian Jiang learnt from tradition and the creation which combined with his own emotional personality,formed a unique painting language and artistic appearance.It has been hundreds of years since the art of painting of Jian Jiang.However,appreciating Jian Jiang’s works still make people feel the strong sense of form and times.His distinctive painting language and spiritual connotation had a profound influence on the painters of later generations.Through analyzing the works of Jian Jiang and its landscape painting,this thesis deeply analyzes the characteristics of Jian Jiang landscape painting,inspires the creative thinking of landscape painting.Using the combination of sketching and creation,the real natural landscape and personal feelings are combined to create landscape paintings.At the same time,through the landscape painting creation practice of “Nanxi’s Autumn”,it reviews that how Jian Jiang’s artistic conception influence the author,and how author experiences the artistic conception produced by the painting language in the landscape painting of Jian Jiang.This thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter studies the influence of life experience,environment and mentoring relationship on Jian Jiang’s painting art,and probes into his characteristics and artistic achievements,starting from the Time Background and Humanistic Environment of the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties.The second chapter analyzes the art style,brush and ink,and painting artistic conception,deepens the study and mastery of the art style and language of Jian Jiang’s landscape painting through the appreciation and analysis of Jian Jiang’s concrete landscape painting works.The third chapter discusses the practical process of this graduation creation,from viewfinder,composition,pre-creation practice to the application of pen and ink,and makes sure the purpose and meaning of writing by combining theory with practice.The fourth chapter summarizes the author’s feelings and reflections in the process of creating “Nanxi’s Autumn”,and deeply realizes that it is necessary to study landscape painting rooted in tradition.Only by improving the painting skill and deepening the knowledge of nature,the feelings can be exposed through painting language.Only by doing a good job of transformation of inheritance and innovation and respecting the objective laws of beauty,we can create works of art with the spirit of the times.The landscape painting of Jian Jiang embodies his unremitting pursuit of art,his aesthetic interest in landscape painting and the spirit of the times.His outstanding artistic achievements and unique artistic style deserve us to study,discover,inherit and innovate.Studying and learning the characteristics of the painting language of Jian Jiang provides important guidance for author’s graduation creation and the study of landscape painting in the future.
