Xiao Hong’s Traumatic Experience And Literary Writing

Xiao Hong is a writer who is good at pouring her emotional experience into her works.In her literary creation,she reproduces the pain and trauma deeply buried in the feudal family ethics and cruel society.This paper takes Xiao Hong’s literary works as the research object,combines with Xiao Hong’s rough life experience,analyzes the artistic presentation of Xiao Hong’s traumatic experience in the text,and the narrative characteristics of Xiao Hong’s traumatic experience writing,and probes into the significance of Xiao Hong’s traumatic experience writing.The main body of the thesis consists of three parts:The first part explores the multiple forms of Xiao Hong’s trauma experience writing.Xiao Hong,as an "autobiographical" writer,often takes her own personal experiences and emotional feelings as the material of literary writing.This part is based on the study of Xiao Hong’s life experience and text content.According to Xiao Hong’s life experience,the trauma types in Xiao Hong’s text are generalized and summarized into three types: family trauma,gender trauma and war trauma,and then the relationship between Xiao Hong’s trauma writing,patriarchal system and historical environment is explored.The second part focuses on Xiao Hong’s narrative strategy of trauma experience writing.Based on narrate theory,this part analyzes and studies the narrative structure,narrative perspective and narrative image in Xiao Hong’s works,and explores the unique expression of Xiao Hong’s traumatic experience writing.Traumatized Xiao Hong breaks the traditional way of writing and uses a non-linear and fragmented narrative structure to show the trauma experienced by her characters in different scenes.He integrates his own traumatic experience into the fictional narrative with the first-person knowledge limited perspective,and witnesses the trauma of the people around him from the first-person perspective.She also uses the third-person omniscient perspective to calmly and objectively present the trauma suffered by ordinary people,especially women,and pours her sympathy and admiration for people at the bottom into the narrative of the text.Finally,various poetic images are used to metaphor the living state of the characters and convey the emotional attitude of the affected subject.The third part discusses the value of Xiao Hong’s trauma experience writing.Personally,writing about trauma experience provides Xiao Hong with an effective way to reshape herself and realize self-essence verification for her troubled life.While writing about personal trauma experience,Xiao Hong constructs an illusory ideal paradise to soothe her own trauma between virtual and real narration.For the society,Xiao Hong soberly pointed out the necessity of reforming the national character at the critical moment of national survival through the narration of the dead and ignorant living state of the people in her hometown and the petty and repressed life of the female group in her works.She not only went beyond the comfort and healing of the "ego",but also reflected on the ignorance of the whole human race.Finally,by analyzing the differences between Xiao Hong’s trauma experience writing and Lu Xun and other left-wing male writers,this paper explores the contribution Xiao Hong’s trauma experience writing brings to Chinese new literature.
