English reading is the main source for senior high school students to acquire the knowledge of English language and culture,and it is also an important way to improve their core quality of English subjects.English reading strategies and reading self-efficacy are important factors that affect learners’ reading efficiency.In addition,the literature shows that domestic scholars have studied English reading strategies and reading self-efficacy from multiple perspectives,but there are few studies on the relevance of reading strategies,self-efficacy and reading performance.Therefore,the present study aims to explore the relationship between English reading strategies and reading self-efficacy and their influence on English reading performance.By using the methods of literature analysis,interview analysis,questionnaire survey and statistical analysis,this study investigates 110 junior middle school students in G city with the Junior Middle School English Reading Strategy Scale and the Junior Middle School English Reading Self-efficacy Scale.1.How are the junior middle school students using English reading strategies?2.How about the junior middle school students’ English self-efficacy?3.Are there correlations among reading strategies,self-efficacy and reading achievement of junior high school students? If so,what is the correlation?After this research,the following conclusions have been drawn:Data processing and analysis based on SPSS26.0 software in this study,the final results show that:1.In this study,the overall mean reading self-efficacy of junior high school students was 3.9879,which was above the average level.From high to low,the order was 4.000,3.9879,3.9758.2.The study found that the average reading strategies used by junior high school students was 3.9735,followed by cognitive strategies 4.0318,regulatory strategies 3.9659 and metacognitive strategies 3.9227.3.In this study,junior high school students’ reading self-efficacy,reading strategies and English reading achievement have two correlations.The correlation coefficient between reading strategies and reading self-efficacy is 0.963.In addition,English reading self-efficacy can predict 12.3%,English reading strategies can predict 11.0%,English reading self-efficacy and reading strategies can predict 26.0%.
