In the children’s picture book creation materials,clay as an ancient original material,in the same vein as Chinese folk clay sculpture,in the context of strengthening cultural self-confidence and inheriting Chinese culture,the development of clay picture books can not only promote traditional culture,but also retain the unique charm of clay sculpture,and have a greater influence on the inheritance of folk culture.More importantly,according to the survey and research,children’s closeness to clay is caused by their hearts,and playing with clay has a positive effect on children’s physical and mental health development.At the same time,with the development of the times and the improvement of the quality of the whole people,parents,educators and sociological circles are paying more and more attention to children’s aesthetic education,and the perspective of studying aesthetic education has also extended from children’s literature and poetry to various fields,and children’s picture books have been fully explored and utilized as an important medium carrying the function of aesthetic education.In the academic field,although there are different studies on children’s aesthetic education and children’s clay picture books,there is still insufficient research on the interdisciplinary integration of fine arts education and visual communication design,and the development and optimization strategy of Chinese clay picture books lacks thinking from the perspective of aesthetic education.Therefore,the author attempts to comprehensively review and analyze the development status,characteristics and formation process of children’s picture books through interdisciplinary research methods,combined with literature analysis,questionnaire,case analysis,experiment and empirical research,and meanwhile analyze the feasibility of the design of clay picture books guided by the theory of children’s aesthetic education.The experiment demonstrates the relationship between children’s aesthetic education and clay picture books and the influence between them.It also puts forward the design optimization strategy of clay picture books based on children’s aesthetic education in the aspects of design requirements,design criteria and visual design elements and the constructive development design strategy for Chinese clay picture books.
