Research On The Dimensional Translation Of Figurative Compound Words

Figurative compound words refer to the phenomenon of word-making in which metaphors participate in the word-making process,and there is a new meaning in the word-making process.The use of metaphorical compound words is extremely extensive,which has attracted extensive attention and discussion in the academic circles.At present,the academic community has rich research results on this type of words,but the research on dimensional translation still needs to be further explored,because the metaphorical compound word metaphor often gives a strong intuitive impression,so this paper will investigate the metaphorical body when translating the metaphorical compound word from the perspective of the combination of semantic category and group word structure of the metaphorical compound word body,and investigate and explore with the help of the basic research method of the metaphorical compound word dimension.This paper defines the concept of metaphorical compound words,and points out the main group word structure of figurative compound words,including four types: "prefigurative compound words","post-metaphorical compound words","double metaphorical compound words",and "overall metaphorical compound words".Then the four group word structures are divided into seven types of "action","human","plant","animal","action","component" and "natural" according to the semantic categories of the metaphor,but in the process of collecting and investigating the corpus,it is found that the prefigurative common metaphorical compound words generally do not include the action class,the post-metaphorical form generally does not include the component class and the action class,the double metaphor often does not include humans,and the overall metaphor generally does not include the action class.Through investigation,it is found that the distribution of four structural compound words is different,with the prefigurative metaphorical compound words accounting for the largest proportion and the richest metaphorical semantic categories,the smallest overall distribution of post-metaphorical metaphorical compound words,and the least variety of metaphorical semantic categories.When figurative compound words are translated in a specific context,the main methods including literal translation,conversion method,paraphrasing method,and provincial translation method are used to reproduce the meaning to be expressed by the word class,and the retention and omission of metaphor body in the process of dimensional translation of figurative compound words need to be paid attention to.
