Writing is one of the four basic language skills,it can comprehensively reflect learners’ logical thinking ability and language ability.The examination of writing ability also plays a vital role in various English exams.It is a hot issue for teachers to improve the students’ writing skills by analyzing the types and causes of their English writing errors.However,error analysis research done by the predecessors mainly involved college students,and rarely touched upon junior high school students.In the limited research on writing errors made by junior high school students,the analysis mainly focuses on a specific error type,and few researchers combine various types of errors to systematically compare and analyze them.Based on interlanguage,this paper uses comparative analysis and error analysis to conduct a statistical analysis of the English compositions of 120 students in the ninth grade of Luancheng District No.7 Middle School in Shijiazhuang,Hebei Province through designing English writing exercises and questionnaire,generalizes the error types,and analyzes the reasons for the errors,aiming to help English writing teachers guide students more efficiently and improve their writing skills.The results of the research show that the English writing errors of junior high school students are mainly reflected in grammar,vocabulary,substance and discourse expression.In terms of grammar,there are lexical and syntactic errors,and the rate of errors in verbs is the highest.As for vocabulary,there are collocation errors and word selection errors.With respect to ontology,errors concentrate on word spelling,capitalization and use of punctuation.Discourse errors are mainly reflected in micro cohesion errors and macro logic errors.The main reasons for the errors are interlingual transfer,intralingual transfer,environmental factors and lack of practice.Finally,the author puts forward some suggestions for junior high school English writing teaching according to students’ writing and teachers’ instructions of writing. |
