In the late Ming Dynasty,the economy prospered,the social extravagance prevailed,and the etiquette and law collapsed.The inherent contradictions in the feudal society have deepened,and the society is undergoing profound and strong changes.The change of economic structure and the prosperity of commerce made people change from advocating thrifty and simplicity to encouraging consumption and luxury.Also the study and aesthetics of ancient artifacts in the late Ming Dynasty completely different from the previous generations.Scholar-officials in the late Ming Dynasty chose to rest easy and live in seclusion,playing guqin and drinking.Some used reading and writing to kill time.They also gathered people together to reflect on the ancient times,appreciating the ancient artifacts,making decoration study,to enjoy their own comfortable idle life.This paper is mainly divided into the following four parts:The first chapter introduces the leisure appreciation and practice of the scholar-officials in the late Ming Dynasty:the living condition of this particular group is demonstrated through literature research and imagery research.It points out that the leisure way of appreciating ancient artifacts is a practice of a unique style of this field.The second chapter analyzes the scope of ancient artifacts in late Ming Dynasty : through literature research and comparative research,it lists some representative monographs of ancient artifact appreciation and some analysis of their catalogue.Hence,the scope and purpose of their study of ancient artifacts are obtained.The third chapter analyzes the main contents of the study of ancient artifacts in the late Ming Dynasty:through literature research,imagery research and comparative research,these three research methods explain that it is explained that their research on ancient artifacts mainly includes generation identification,distinguishment the false and the authentic,and preservation and repair.The fourth chapter reveals the unique aesthetic system of ancient objects in the late Ming Dynasty:through literature research,imagery research and comparative research,it points out the uniqueness of this group of how they appreciate ancient artifacts and pursue happiness and health.Through the study the of the four parts.The paper analyzes the late Ming scholar-officials class as a group,and their attitude to artifacts,research methods,appreciation standards,etc.It reveals the specific environment in the late Ming derived from” leisure appreciation" concept,in the period of advocating the spiritual realm of nature and respect of life and love of everything.
